Sherwood Forest Releases New Track "Feed My Lambs"

The story of Peter is one of the most challenging parts of the gospels apart from perhaps the story of Judas. He walked alongside Christ, was given a new name and title, was in Jesus’ inner circle even within the Twelve – yet still was rebuked for his lack of faith, verbally denied Christ multiple times, and deserted the Lord upon the hour of His death. Of course, the story does not end there – and Peter is three times asked if he loves Jesus and is ultimately restored to ministry with more boldness than before, even to the point of becoming a martyr.… Continued →

Sower Releases "Creation" Off Upcoming Concept EP

Sower, the self-described “biblical indie rock” project, have returned only moments after releasing their debut EP to show the firstfruits of their upcoming follow up EP that tells the narrative of the Gospel across four songs: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. “Creation”, serving appropriately as the first single, is out now and tells the controversial tale of God’s good design for humankind and the world in which we live. The song pulls heavily from Genesis and presents listeners with reminders of the world pre-fall. Listen below and stay tuned for more news on the full EP soon!… Continued →

Song of the Day: Puller - Last One Out (R.I.P. Geoff Riley)

The Christian indie scene suffered a great loss last week, losing notable drummer Geoff Riley, known best for his immaculate time-keeping skills in the band Puller. The band was formed by Mike Lewis (ex-For Love Not Lisa, secular grunge/post-hardcore band), and hailed from Oklahoma. Mike posted the news of Geoff’s death, and some very poignant thoughts about Riley’s life and artistic contributions to the independent music scene via Instagram. Because it can’t really be said any better than this, I’m linking the post and including the entire text here: Geoff Riley Instagram Announcement “Hearing the news of my friend and music partner Geoff Riley passing is an overwhelming devastating loss.Continued →

REVIEW : Breakaway - Warrior

Breakaway is a one-man oi/punk band from south Texas. In fact, all guitars, bass, “beats” (does this mean a drum machine?) and vocals on Warrior are handled by David Burke. The EP is produced by Breakaway as well, which I assume means Burke again. While this is impressive in many ways, it can also be limiting. We’ll come back to that as a recurring theme on this EP. The tempos, for the most part, are fast and furious, and yet there is a rock and roll undertone to the sounds.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Abandoned Pools - Sublime Currency

Most know Tommy Walter aka Abandoned Pools from the Tooth & Nail release. However, he released lots of music beforehand with the mainstream band Eels & the moniker actually stemmed from 2 other names before it involved into AP. This SOTD was actually the 3rd single released from the album of the same name. Abandoned Pools is currently working on their 6th release & their Kickstarter project started August 6th, 2024.

Feeble Attempt Release Their Epic Skate Punk Debut!

Feeble Attempt are finally dropping their collaborative melodic skate punk debut album. The album is titled “Absolute Trash” but it is far from that, I mean polar opposite from anything resembling trash, we’ll save that for Five Iron Frenzy (lovingly). There are a ton of killer guest vocalists that fill out this release including Josh from Dogwood and Saint Didacus, Peter from Over It and Runner Runner, Adam from Homegrown and Radical Radical, and loads more. Did I say a former member of Means is part of this project?… Continued →
