Song of the Day: Elgibbor - Final Triumph

Elgibbor began as a solo project of Jarek (AKA “Fire,” also of Fire Throne) from Poland in 1999. Other band members have come and gone, and Jarek has since relocated to the United States. The outfit is incredibly prolific, having released 15 full-length albums since its inception, not to mention singles, EPs and other releases. The band’s name is taken from a Hebrew name for God, meaning “God Almighty.” An interesting approach is taken by the band in that each album features a slightly different take on the black metal genre.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Terminal Generation - Body Bag vs Suck You Down

So here is another rarity band that I have pulled from the archives. The Terminal Generation considered themselves the world’s scariest band. Based out of California, they melded distorted guitars & vocals. Most would know them if they followed 90s Christian industrial movement when R.E.X. records released an industrial compilation called Electro Shock Therapy in 1995, but they actually got their start in LA in 1989.

Alandria - Turn Back Time (New Song)

Emotionally charged Pop-Punk act – Alandria, just released their brand new single titled “Turn Back Time” (no, it’s not a Cher cover) a week ago and it absolutely rules and I know you’ll all feel the same way upon giving this a listen. Beyond good, the best, I love it, can I say “I love it” multiple times? Give Alandria a listen and check out “Turn Back Time” below this message or on your favorite digital network.… Continued →

Introducing: Hope Through Grace

Let’s take a moment and soak in the pure awesomeness of the band Hope Through Grace from the UK, laying down that hardcore and metal so perfectly. On this song “John 20” it features Miggy Sanchez of Relent fame. The band just released their brand new EP also titled “John 20”, a week ago through Southwest Hardcore and it’s a wildfire spreading bombastic, heavy hardcore influenced EP. Hope Through Grace and Barriers (also from the UK) are tearing Europe up by storm and you need to check them both out (they share members).… Continued →

Song of the Day: Innermeans - Casualty of Me

I wasn’t sure what to make of this band the first time I heard them. It was heavy, metallic hardcore, created in the era just before full-blown metalcore had become a thing. And the vocals were unlike anything I’d ever heard in hardcore before. The band hailed from Riverside, CA and were only active for a couple of years in the late 90s. They released a pair of demos, before releasing a devastating 4-song EP for fledgling Solid State Records, then-brand new sub-label of Tooth & Nail focusing exclusively on hardcore and metal.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Benjamin - Don't Tell Him You Love Him

Benjamin is the only son of Christian music legends Bill & Gloria Gaither. I have always liked this song & The Narrow Road. Rain Down a Fire was big on CCM radio also. I love the lyrics to the chorus of this song. Don’t tell Him you love Him, Don’t tell Him you need Him til you’re ready to fall down on your knees & ready to serve Him. Don’t tell Him you’re sorry, Don’t tell Him what you’re never going to do until you let Him stand & follow through.… Continued →

Happy Powers (Paige Tremaine) Debuts First Single

If Paige Tremaine’s name isn’t quit familiar, perhaps you’d at least recognize her husband Chase – the entrepreneurial spirit behind the JFH podcast, one of the mainstays in the Christian independent music world, and a man who boasts several albums to his name (among many other hobbies and talents). It might be easy to mistake that Paige’s songwriting, assisted powerfully by her husband, would be simpler or have more of a side project feeling to it on paper. But you’d also be quite wrong: it’s clear Happy Powers, her musical moniker, means serious business and is in fact a captivating rock project.… Continued →

PADOVER (Featuring Damian Horne of Silage) Releases Debut EP

I just got wind of this new project called PADOVER that features the talents of Damian Horne of Silage fame. He emailed me and gave me info and I’m certainly glad he did. The band just released their new EP “Paper Catches Fire” and they want you all to give them a listen. I think a lot of old 90’s alt rock fans alongside all the latest and greatest from the past 20 years or so of modern music making will find something to appreciate in the music of Padover.… Continued →

The "Time" is Now for the Myriad to Unleash One of the Most Powerful Songs of 2024

Just when I thought the year was winding down and coming to a close a band like The Myriad arrives with what can only be considered to be an absolute masterpiece, a song called “Time”. I’m judging this merely based upon this short teaser trailer and the fact that their last 2 songs were pure magic. The word “Time” is a common running theme in the music of The Myriad and I suspect there is more to the theme than what is visible at the surface level.… Continued →

Gable Price featured on The Rumors Are True podcast

Gable Price, frontman of the band Gable Price and Friends is featured this week on The Rumors Are True podcast. Known for blending introspective lyrics with a bold, genre-defying sound, Gable dives into the stories behind his music, the journey of starting a band, and the unexpected moments that have shaped his career. The band is known for blending rock, indie, and alternative sounds with lyrical depth that often explores faith, personal reflection, and life’s complexities. Fronted by Gable Price, the group has gained attention for their energetic style, introspective lyrics, and unique approach to discussing themes of spirituality without being overly preachy.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Lost Dogs - No Ship Coming In

This folk/alternative/roots supergroup emerged in the early 90s as prominent members of four huge Christian bands came together in a new way altogether. Michael Roe of the Seventy Sevens, Terry Scott Taylor of Daniel Amos, Gene Eugene of Adam Again, and Derri Daugherty of the Choir joined their songwriting, playing, and singing skills and released the brilliant debut Scenic Routes in 1992. The album was an amalgamation of all things Americana: folk, country, gospel, bluegrass, blues, and rock and roll all coming together with an alternative tinge.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Zach Williams - There Was Jesus vs Old Church Choir

I admit I stopped listening to radio in the late 90s. Most of it was due to the point that Christian radio changed formats. It just seems to have the same exact basic gospel message to every song. We were dead in sin, but God brings us to Him & so we praise Him for that. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but there is more to Christian music than just the same idea. Here is an artist who has been through a lot & sings about Jesus being there all the time.… Continued →

Light The Way "Expel" Out Now + Lyric and Audio Videos

So, Light The Way dropped what many consider to be the best album of their careers back on Friday, “Expel”. The album is a no holds barred, action packed, passionate and altogether adrenaline charged love letter to the lost, lonely, and broken hearted. There truly is something for everyone in these songs and in these powerful lyrics. Not only is there fun and light hearted tongue in cheek humor, but there is also serious subject matter and a cry out to God to deliver us from our brokenness and our despair.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Imisi - God is Love (feat. Columbus Riddim)

‘Imisi is a reggae duo spearheaded by brothers David Fohe and Jubilee Fohe. They play in the pop-reggae or “lovers rock” style, but with a worshipful emphasis on the love of God. Imisi’s music was first brought to a wider audience through Mark Mohr’s (of Christafari) label Lion of Zion Entertainment, who released a pair of albums in 2003 and 2006, respectively. They seem to have been active up until at least 2023, releasing more albums–mostly digitally–through their websites at ReverbNation and BigCartel. “God is Love” comes from the 2013 project Riddimtion Project Vol 1 of which I can barely find any info at all.… Continued →

New Music Out Late Tonight: Light The Way, Sower, & Pennylane, + Fighting From The Ground Up 4

Rather than make an individual post for each one of these artists I am going to combine them right here. Please feel free to add to this list if you know any new songs/albums/eps dropping tonight/tomorrow. First up, Light The Way will drop their exquisite new album titled “Expel” that really has taken me by surprise and it has captured my attention in ways that very few other releases have done this year. There is so much diversity to be found on “Expel” and the lyrical honesty, Faith connecting, and the fun way they do things really just lightens anyone’s mood.… Continued →

Song of the Day: All Star United - Let's Get Crazy vs Saviour of my Universe

I remember first hearing Ian Eskelin’s music from his rave outing called Zero. He then went by his Ian Eskelin birth name (which Wikipedia has incorrectly the album listed as his name) and then to just Ian. Then he changed musical direction entirely for this fun quirky alternative rock band called All Star United which released a slew of Christian rock radio friendly singles over the next few years. These 2 songs have always been my faves.

Song of the Day: Scars of Eden - Fade Away

Texan metalcore Scars of Eden formed in 2009 & released 2 EPs: Resistance & The Awakening. Check out this SOTD & the song’s lyric`s. I’ve walked away from the one who bled to take me From deaths cold embrace where flesh would surely take me Break me, Father Send me, Humbly God pour your spirit Into our hearts You will not abandon Those who call Your name I will not fall To the vices that restrain my soul We press on knowing Eternity was written on my heart Your looking at the ones who will never fade We will never fade away

REVIEW : Jacob Goins - A Spring May Well Up

“I have no song in me. There is nothing in that I have to say that my brother can’t say instead,” feels like a fitting set of lyrics for Jacob Goins’ newest collection of largely-instrumental song. Opening track “No Song” sets the scene with a tale of lack: Goins address the God who makes the white snow while admitting his own impurity; he speaks of the God who gives birds flight while he at the same time seems immobile. Thus, A Spring May Well Up is a journey of sorts through deadness and dryness, often conveyed through meditative quietude of sorts.… Continued →
