“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14
I was watching tv last night and a commercial came on for a new show. I’m not going to mention the name of that show, but it was glorifying witchcraft. I was appalled that such a subject would be portrayed in a “good” way and that such a show would even be made! It then got me thinking and I realized that there are other shows, movies, etc. glamorizing such things that go against God. I then began to think about the current state of the nation let alone the world and thought of today’s song and verse 2 Chronicles 7:14.
The second verse of this song for me is on point, “What has changed and made this so bad? It didn’t used to be this way for my Grandad. There’s a conscience in this place. I’m ashamed at this disgrace. I don’t want to live in a Godless nation. I don’t want to live in a land without a heart. I don’t want to live in a Godless nation. Why has this land become torn apart?”
Please reflect on the lyrics, enjoy this great song by this great band, and most importantly meditate on verse 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Christ bless you!
