Ted Bond (Lead Vocalist/Guitarist/songwriter for the band Craig’s Brother), his wife, and their children, have been displaced by the recent wildfires in Northern California and are unable to return home. They’ve had to evacuate and will not be allowed to return for some time. Basically they are homeless and just living day by day. CB guitarist and songwriter, Steven Neufeld, has started a Go Fund Me just to help Ted and Family get by during these difficult times. A lot of families are struggling through not only the pandemic, but also loss of work and income as a result and add to the mess of 2020 with these wildfires and you just have a terrible whole year.… Continued →

Thanks to a friend of mine, I have found a new band that I am instantly drawn to. You all need to check out the band The August Guns from Des Moines, IA. The band released a really cool 5 song EP titled “Born Into Noise” last year that I am almost positive slipped under most people’s radars. The band mixes up punk rock with post hardcore elements, alongside a certain Truth, a spiritual truth and a hope that binds it all together. Homeplate dropped their debut ep “Derby City” last Friday and it seems to be garnering quite some interest. Check out another song off this Ep titled “I Need Grace” which is a lot more straight forward than other relationship type faith innuendo tracks. There have been so many u2 cover songs over the years and u2 cover bands (you know who you are) but none as powerful as this new Beloved version. I’m sorry but I just have to say that this is the most powerful U2 cover by a rock band that I’ve ever heard! I used to think Thrush’s version of “New Years Day” was pretty awesome but this one takes the cake. The production is near perfect, all the instruments played with a certain melodic ferocity and the intensity of vocals absolutely blows me away.… Continued →

Andrew Schwab and Project 86 have just made their debut 1998 “Self Titled” album available once again for streaming/digital purchase. The album has been offline for a number of years probably due to some offense with the song “Independence?”. This album put the Orange County, CA. band on the map in 1998 and by the time of “Drawing Black Lines” in 2000, this band’s mark was clearly felt. I was lucky enough to witness the band’s first few shows back when Ethan Luck was in the band and they had a very heavy, aggressive, RATM influence.… Continued →
