Throwback Thursday: Anberlin - New Surrender

In this weeks edition of my Throwback Thursday series we’ve got Anberlin’s album New Surrender which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this Sunday. Brandon included New Surrender in his list of the best albums of 2008 feature last month, here’s what he had to say about it: There was a time years ago where I ripped the direction Anberlin took with this album and I now regret those words. This was a polished, commercial sounding record but the songs resonated with me and listeners across the globe.… Continued →

Switchfoot Tease Album 11[UPDATE: Hiatus is Over]

UPDATE:  Switchfoot has confirmed the end of their hiatus in a new video and announced that the journey begins 10/19/2018!
Original Post: Switchfoot have taken to social media to tease album number 11. The band uploaded an picture of an “11” last night leaving fans to guess what it means. Naturally one can only assume they’re teasing their 11th studio album, but after the April Fool’s Day video teasing metal cover of “Meant to Live” it’s anybody’s guess. Speaking of that video though, it referred to “Project 11” and teased a October 2018 release date.… Continued →

Throwback Thursday: House of Heroes - The End is Not the End

Prepare to feel old. After reading Brandon’s feature “The Best of 2008: 10 Years, A Look Back” a few weeks ago I’ve been digging through my music collection looking for more albums celebrating their 10 year anniversary only to realize 2008 was a great year for music! Which made me decide it’s time we give some of these great albums from the past the recognition they deserve. So naturally I hijacked the popular hashtag #ThrowbackThursday to bring you a new feature that celebrates the anniversaries of some classic albums.… Continued →

Introducing: Apollo LTD

I mentioned this band back at the beginning of the summer in my post “7 Bands I’ve Discovered on Spotify This Year” but since they’ve got a new single out this weekend I thought I’d take time to give them a proper introduction. Apollo LTD is a alternative pop band from Nashville, TN consisting of Jordan Phillips and Adam Stark. The band is signed to Residence Music, a subset of Centricity Music, who goal to help Christian artists who desire to make more than just worship songs.… Continued →

Marshall Marshall - Fall to My Knees

I’m not sure which is harder: adding vegetables to my diet or adding worship songs to my playlists. Both are good for me, but generally speaking I’d prefer just about anything else. Thankfully not all vegetables are bland and neither are all worship songs. And on that note I’ve got a new song from the band Marshall Marshall to share with you today. It’s called “Fall to My Knees” and is streaming now on Apple Music, Spotify, and on YouTube below.

Introducing: Fleurie

You may not know who Fleurie is but there’s a good chance you’ve heard her voice before. The Nashville-based artist has had her music featured in a lot of TV and movies recently (The Shape of Water, Bones, and Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger to name a few). She’s also appeared on songs like NF’s “Mansion” and House of Heroes’ “Crash.” Oh, and she’s written music with quite a few other artists like Sarah Reeves, Local Sound, and Cody Carnes.… Continued →

Switchfoot Takes Break from Hiatus to Write Song for Movie

I think we’re all beginning to wonder whether or not Switchfoot grasps the concept of a hiatus. The band announced their hiatus at the end of 2017 but that hasn’t stopped them from playing a few shows and teasing a metal version of their classic “Meant to Live”. Now they’ve taken a break from their hiatus to write a song for the upcoming movie Unbroken: Path to Redemption. If that title looks a little familiar it’s because it’s a sequel to the 2014 movie Unbroken about US Olympian and army officer Louie Zamperini.… Continued →
