What’s the back-story of the band. How did everybody meet. General bio type of stuff.
This is a long one here haha. I went to high school with Josh, and I joined the band with him and a couple other guys. After high school we needed a guitar player and I knew James from junior high and we had played with his band a couple times.… Continued →

By Jonathan/Bloodwater
Thank you to Bonafide for taking the time to answer my questions and thanks to Jen from Big Machine Media for setting up this interview.
For those unfamiliar with you, first off where does the name Grits come from and why did you decide to go with it?
We are from the south, and when you hear GRITS, its already assumed. We wanted a name that stuck out and meant something that represented us.
How did you get the nicknames Coffee and Bonafide?… Continued →

House of Heroes
Eric, IVM: Who are we talking to here? Name and instuments.
Tim, HOH: This is Timothy Ryan Skipper. I play guitar and sing in House of Heroes.
Your new album just came out September 23 on iTunes. How does it feel to finally have this thing out there after all the complications?
It’s actually a really weird feeling. Don’t get me wrong, it’s absolutely amazing and relieving to have it out. But since it’s been done for so long, all of our friends have already listened to it a bunch and gotten sick of it, so it’s weird because to us and the people immediately around us, it’s kind of old news. … Continued →

Mark, CHL: My name is Mark Nicks. I play drums and piano and sing in Cool Hand Luke.

Jon Foreman (Switchfoot)
What does a typical day look like in the life of Jon Foreman?
When I’m home I try to do the following at least once a day: record, write, surf, hang with my wife, read, and eat.
Most of our readers probably know about your seasons EPs, so you can briefly recap on that for those who don’t, and then we’ll go on to talk about your new release, Limbs and Branches.
The EP’s are titled Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. The music on each EP was recorded in season- Six songs a pop for a total of 24 songs to round out the year.… Continued →

For Today
(Email Interview)
A big thanks to Mattie for answering these questions!
(Photocredit: Myspace.com/Kimphotog)
KimIVM- Alrighty, well your debut full length Ekklesia released earlier this year on Facedown Records, what exactly does Ekklesia mean? How’d you guys settle on the name?
MattieFT- Well, the Greek word Ekklesia has two meanings that I think build on each other very well. The first meaning is “The church” and the second is “the called out ones of God”. I feel like, all too frequently, members of the church think that, because they claim the name of Christ, God owes them something. … Continued →

Ready the Way
Myspace
I got the chance to sit down with the boys from Ready the Way after they played their welcome home show with Solidarity and Saints Never Surrender at Living Word in Lynchburg, Virginia last weekend. We were all exhausted and I got punched in the face during Solidarity. But, nevertheless, it was an amazing show. After the show we all piled into their van and discussed faith, music, and made a ton of product placements. Here is what the had to say.
*(Note: I put IVM by my name so it wouldn’t be so confusing as to who was talking because of how many people are speaking.… Continued →

I managed to catch these guys when they were on tour with My Epic this past week. My Epic was invited to play with the Glorious Unseen at Liberty University’s Tilley Center. Unfortunately, All the Day Holiday and So Long Forgotten were not invited to play the event. Both bands managed to fit in a few acoustic songs outside after My Epic played. I got to talk to the lead singer while the Glorious Unseen was setting up to play their show.… Continued →

Smoking Popes
Q: Just so everyone knows, who are we talking with here? Name and instrument(s).
A: Josh Caterer, lead vocals and guitar.
Q: Well, I guess the obvious first question is after nearly ten years away from recording music, what made you suddenly decide to get the band back together? A: When I left the band, it was a personal decision I made to concentrate on my relationship with Jesus.… Continued →

Akissforjersey Interview
I have to say that talking with Tyler was probably one of the highlights of my entire life. Not only because I’m a HUGE fan of Akissforjersey, but also because it helped build my faith and find so much more clarity in my relationship with God. I also should add that from time to time Zach would come sit and join us! That was entertaining! This interview was conducted in the Chain Reaction parking lot under a starry smog filled California sky on July 27th, 08.

Project 86
Over the weekend I was able to swing by Passion Fest in Pottstown, PA to meet up with Andrew Schwab, lead vocalist of Project 86. Despite having idolized him throughout my high school years and having been told by certain people that Andrew is intimidating in person, he was surprisingly a normal guy, just hanging out, having some fun, and playing some music.
E: It’s been ten years since the release of your self-titled CD. How’s it feel to be around that long? Any celebration plans?… Continued →

Sleeping Giant
This is LONG over due! The interview was conducted after the Scream the Prayer tour in San Bernardino, California on June 15th.
So you guys just came back from Jerusalem…That is EPIC! Dish! I want to know everything!
[Laughs] Uh, lets see: long plane rides, very hot, very hot. One thing we noticed was that the culture really doesn’t…they’re kind of…they’re sort of all about themselves in a way. They don’t really acknowledge you and it makes you feel kind of weird. Like they’re sort of jerks to you in a way.… Continued →

My Children My Bride
Things I’ve learned from conducting this interview: Leather pants are cool…pre-show rituals are over rated…and the guys from My Children My Bride are just as awesome as I could have imagined they’d be! Just for some clarity, this interview was conducted on a sweaty and historic walk to Taco Bell during the June 15th Scream the Prayer tour …Enjoy…
Alright, so we’re out here roasting. It’s about…a million and a half degrees or so. Why don’t you go ahead and introduce yourselves.
Matt: I’m Matthew, the singer of My Children My Bride

The Myriad
When I gave a list of questions to The Myriad’s management to email to them, I wasn’t expecting four out of the five band members to answer them for me. What a great surprise! So here is my interview with The Myriad, split up according to who is answering each question.
JONATHAN YOUNG (GUITAR)
How long have you guys been around? Can you give us the history or your band?

Gasoline Heart
Interview with Gasoline Heart (4-16-08)
As a 19-year-old, it was a little awkward walking into the Green Rock Tavern in Philly for a 21+ show asking for Gasoline Heart, but their manager Jimi met me pretty quickly since I was early enough to be the only one there not with the band. After Louis finished his sound checking, we walked outside to look for a place to do the interview while he had a “smokerette.” We chatted about the problems with liberal Bible colleges and my possibility of sneaking back inside to watch the show after our interview, which I was lucky enough to be able to do.… Continued →

Mae interview
March 20, 2008
By Eric Pettersson
Upon arriving at The Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA, I met up with the band’s tour manager to be taken to the place of the interview. However, since I am under 21, I wasn’t allowed up to the backstage area where the venue allows alcohol because they obviously don’t want to get busted with me up there. So after a little shuffling around on stairs, Zach came down and we walked across the street to the Senorita Burrita.… Continued →

Emery interview
March 7, 2008
By Eric Pettersson
APOLOGY: After showing up fifteen minutes late because of traffic on the expressway, I was quickly escorted to Emery’s dressing room at The Trocadero Theater in Philly to find Josh waiting for me. We moved through what at the time seemed like a great interview while my budding photographer friend Reuben toyed around with his fancy new remote flash taking pictures (to see the rest of his photos from the show that night, check out his MySpace here in the near future) and then Josh was off for sound check while we were off for Chinese food.… Continued →

My Interview with Exodus
Exodus is one of four campus praise bands at Liberty University. The band members are committed Christ followers who lead worship at churches throughout America every weekend. They also play at various convocations at Liberty University. These guys have used their passion and talent for music to bring glory and honor to God through worship music. The band produces original material as well as sings modern praise music.
Since this band genuinely wants to lead praise for God and not themselves, I thought it would be beneficial to learn more about their involvement in Exodus. … Continued →
