Loving this song. Definitely my favorite of the singles.
I keep hoping for one strong, powerful statement inspiring hope in the band’s lyrics. I’ve been following now for the last three albums instead of buying because all I’m hearing and reading is despair, anger, and confusion. The last album I bought was Slave to Nothing. I’m still holding out for something with an uplifting bend but this song is one of the worst yet for a message. “Hopeless prayers,” “It’s me and no one else,” “No one understands,” it’s pure despair. Nah man. It’s not all despair. Songs on dark skies were hopeful. Listen to oblivion. As well as the new track broken mirror. “Rebound in faith” and some other inspirational lyrics can be found in that song. This is one of those emotional, I’m at war with myself songs. Yeah maybe kind of dark lyrically. Musically more melodic.

I guess, despite the bend of the lyrics for this track, Ryan said this album was a soundtrack to victory. I should look at it as victory not around but through tough issues.
