Empire Nation release their first single under the Kingsway Distribution banner. Empire Nation have released a new single in time for Easter, which is the official launch of their partnership with Kingsway Distribution. My Soul Was Chosen is a retelling of the Easter story, and the video features a recreation of the Last Supper, transported to a modern setting. Watch the video below.
Empire Nation have been a well-established independent band on the UK Christian music scene for over four years now, nominated for ‘Best British Band’ and ‘Best British Album’ at the Louder than the Music awards 2012. This single marks the start of them coming under the Kingsway Distribution family… “This is a band that understands the importance of touring hard and serving faithfully and as such we believe that God is starting something new in them. We consider it a real privilege to walk with them on this adventure. And by the way… the album is tremendous!” Mark Bowater Music & Media Manger.
Ed Bird, lead singer and guitarist, said “We’re really excited to be joining Kingsway Distribution and are looking forward to working with such an experienced and talented group of people.”
“My Soul Was Chosen is meant to bring the Easter story to life – it’s us imagining what it would have been like to have been there at the time, but knowing what we know now about the resurrection. We wanted to do the same thing with the video. We knew it might be risky to try to recreate the Last Supper, but we just wanted to do something to stir people’s imaginations and bring the scene to life.”
The new single is taken from the band’s second album, Closer, which has now been re-released through Kingsway Distribution. Click here to order your copy.
