I’ll admit, when I first heard about the line up changes to TOC, I was worried about how the new album would sound. But if this song is any indication of what’s to come, I have nothing to worry about.

Doesn’t sound all that different from Handmade, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I loved Handmade, so I should enjoy Places.

This band is full of talent and always doing interesting things. It’s too bad I can’t get into their music at all.

Same….I love a couple songs but can’t stand most of the ref. I think I just can’t stand his singing voice. But dang they do some interesting stuff for sure.

Put me in that camp too. A lot of respect for what they’ve done…just can’t consider myself a fan.

Poor guy, he can’t seem to find his old band members.

Random Comment: If you’re wondering why this looks a little strange it’s because they shot with a high frame rate but didn’t adjust the shutter speed accordingly. Normally you want your shutter speed to be 2x your frame rate. Not sure if that was a stylistic choice or not, but that’s why the motion looks a little different. It’s basically the same effect you’d see on your TV if you turned on “True motion”.

Knowing how Dawson can be when it comes to stylizing things I would say the HFR and shutter speed thing was intentional. Either way I loved the video and how it visited “places” or old videos. Lots of easter eggs for fans. The first scene is really funny with the big foot walk.
