My wife would love this but is there faith involved or is it just “positive” music?
I’ve not spent a lot of time listening closely to the album yet, but initial impression is that there is very little spirituality in their lyrics. The band released their first few songs on Capital CMG but subsequently began releasing their songs through Credential Recordings (another label under the UMG umbrella). Credential is best known for being the distributor of Jon Foreman’s side projects (Fiction Family, solo albums) as well as handling the Christian market distribution for Switchfoot. My wife and I only have one true common ground with music and that’s Needtobreathe. They have a sound we both enjoy and though they aren’t way out front with their lyrics, there is something there for sure on a pretty regular basis. This seemed lesser in that regard from the singles.

Yeah, it kind of feels like Universal just dug the name out of their closet because they didn’t know what to do with The New Respects after they signed them.
