Facedown Records has been rather notorious for throwing a festival each year since the early 2000’s to give people a show and sometimes to showcase bands for the label. On December 26, Impending Doom spoiled that they would be playing, though Facedown is no longer their label. In May, the 11th through the 13th is when the festival will occur. Another interesting tidbit, each member of the defunct band A Plea for Purging also shared the dates via his Instagram. None of the members are in another band, and there wasn’t another band they were in on Facedown, so best bet is A Plea for Purging reunion. I doubt that Plea will stay reunited or even go as far as to record another album, but we’ll see what happens.
Facedown Fest 2017 features Impending Doom and possible A Plea for Purging reunion

first let me say that A Plea for Purging is by far the band that i’ve seen and have some of the most fun show memories ever (pushing 20 times seen)
that being said, after hearing Andy on podcasts the last few years i’m kinda surprised he would do Plea again considering he appears to be more apathetic towards the faith nowadays. should be some good stuff going down if they’re planning a 3 day fest. would be awesome if they put out a blu ray or dvd for 20 years.
The Life & Death of A Plea For Purging is a great album by a great band, and a reunion sounds fun. The album was such a good send off for the band, I’m fine with no new APFP. However, if they want to make new music under a new name, I’d be really excited to hear it!
I noticed Ryan (guitarist for APFP) posted the dates as well, so that pretty much spells a Plea reunion show. I only wonder though, does Facedown have enough bands to spread out over a three-day fest? They might have to bring more out of retirement.
Dream reunion lineup for the fest:
-APFP
-Seventh Star
-Bloody Sunday
-Bloodlined Calligraphy
-xDeathstarx
-xLookingForwardx
-Symphony in Peril
Seventh Star and xDEATHSTARx are sort of active, but the rest of those bands are pretty much done
Haha, I know. That’s why it was my dream reunion. But thinking about it, they seem to be touting the whole 20 year thing, so perhaps they can coax some early bands out of retirement for a few songs. Its a three-day fest, so I’m sure there will be plenty of surprises.
This would be cool to see, but I’m halfway across the country.
Would absolutely love to be at this. But alas! Australia is a long way away…
Maybe you should see if For All Eternity is going and hitch a ride with them.
Good call! I’ll just stowaway in the bass drum.
