Strike up the band, the gang is back. In 2015 members of the underground CHH label “God Sqwad Records” put together their first group project under the alias of “God Sqwad” titled “The Kingdom is Near”. The project was greeted with much acceptance from the CHH community, being featured on popular websites such as Rapzilla, West Coast Fiyah, New H2O and others as well as making an appearance in Rep The King Magazine. The album touched on many topics including the death rate in Tae Lamar’s (FKA B-Boy For Christ) region of the state; Chicago IL, The everyday pressures that Christian men face in our modern world, The loss of R.E.F.’s father, every day stress, and the walk and life of a believer. News has just broke that Tae Lamar, R.E.F., Geddenon & Elan Brio are back in studio beginning work on the second God Sqwad group album, this time adding new GSR members Jovi Harp – GSR, Nine GSR, Psalm and AT3: Alpha Team Alliance to the group. The album is expected to touch on many personal, social and religious topics much the same as found on “The Kingdom Is Near”.

“THIS GROUP OF GUYS WE HAVE REPRESENTING AND PUTTING IN WORK ON GOD SQWAD RECORDS RIGHT NOW ARE SOME OF THE MOST TALENTED POETS, EMCEES AND PRODUCERS IN THE CHRISTIAN HIP HOP INDUSTRY IN MY OPINION, AND I’M REALLY EXCITED TO GET EVERYONE IN THE LAB TOGETHER TO ALLOW JESUS TO SHINE THROUGH THEM. ITS NEVER BEEN ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT TO US AS A LABEL, AND THESE GUYS NOT ONLY KNOW THAT, BUT THEY EMBRACE AND FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT THEIR PERSONAL MUSIC MINISTRIES, WHICH MAKES WORKING TOGETHER ON SOMETHING LIKE THIS NOT ONLY VERY ENJOYABLE BUT ALSO EXTREMELY EXCITING TO SEE WHAT GOD DOES THROUGH THE PROCESS. – R.E.F.
