The Industrial/black metal band Kekal has been working on new material. Earlier this year, a little over a month ago, Jeff Arwadi, the main man behind the band (hey that rhymed), put out a post giving clarification on the band’s status and new music. Kekal started in 1995 and has gone through minor lineup changes. The band has had no official members since August 8, 2009, when Jeff Arwadi and Leo Setiawan both quit the band. All the former members have contributed to albums since the departure of these members. Four albums have been recorded in this time: 8, Autonomy, Mulitlateral, and Deeper Underground. The last one of these albums, is to be released in 2018, with a single in 2017, titled “Root of All Evil”. The project, I guess is a better term to use, is preparing for this release.

I was thinking Kekal wasn’t a Christian but I might have misunderstood.
I know Jeff Arwadi is a Christian, but he explains that Christianity and religion are seen differently in Indonesia (where the band is from) than in western countries. Their lyrics usually focus on subjects like Christianity, philosophy, morality, and existentialism.
