The profanity completely took me off guard. I’ve never heard them use it before. Really disappointing to hear. Ruined a great sounding song.

Will so far I’ve only heard the first 8 tracks of the new album. It sounds good. I will admit that I am disappointed in MxPx having to pull a P.O.D. After all these years why stoop to this level? I’m not perfect nor am I walking on water. I have struggle from time to time saying bad stuff. But as a Believer I know better not to say God’s name in vain. I checked out the new album on Spotify. I do not mean to be dramatic, but I was so turned off by that line, I stopped listening right away.
I am sad to see that the band has changed in that way.

Yeah, the blasphemy on “Friday Tonight” is pretty frustrating, even if it’s just Mike quoting the movie Friday. Of course, quoting a movie, or referencing one for a chorus feels pretty lazy. I remember being really excited that the band were making a sequel to “Party, My House, Be There” for The Renaissance EP, but then being kind of turned off when the chorus to the song was just Mike rattling off the names of movies that had cool parties. Ok so profanity is very very subjective. For example: In Australia, pastors will say s*** d**n c**p a** and no one will even notice. Even f*** I have heard once although that was a tad too far maybe. Also consider this, did the bible make a list of words we should not say, or did secular society dictate what is distasteful? So yeah, respect society but amongst christians, need we be so squirmish about different words for faeces and sex? I am not a person who uses much profanity at all but it doesn’t offend me.
