A small, independent punk rock band from the late 90’s/early 00’s called “Namesake” that you may have blinked and missed, are back with a special “Demos & Legacy Recordings” release through digital networks. The release features their long lost music including that song “Michigan Avenue” that appeared on “I’m Your Biggest Fan Vol. 2” that I put together years ago for Tooth & Nail and lies dormant in the dusty bins of yesteryear. The band had a lot of passion and talent and could have been the next big thing but sadly ended much too soon. Lead vocalist Matt Aragon even had a Dogwood album named after him because he was a really personable, super nice guy, and all around big fan of great music. I encourage to spin these songs on your digital network of choice. It is called “Demos & Legacy Recordings” by the band Namesake. You’ll have to weed through all the other bands with a similar name to find it but it’s there, I promise. The band is currently in the studio recording their proper debut punk album all these years later. Stay tuned.
