Song of the Day: Collapse//Revive - Sculptor

This SOTD is the latest (at the time of this article) from the Michigander band. There are several bands currently releasing music that are devout Christians & that is so awesome to see imho; No Treaty, Context and HolyName just to name a few. They are working on the EP The Redemption Script. Take a listen & hear the lyrics of this powerful song.

Song of the Day: Dan Smith - Baby Got Book

This is one of the funniest songs I have ever heard. It is a parody obviously of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s hit mainstream song. Basically the song is about a guy who likes a girl who is a Bible Believing Christian. The crazy thing is the Christian Broadcast Network featured it! https://cbn.com/article/not-selected/dan-smith-ode-women-big-bibles https://whiteboydj.com/

Song of the Day: The Remnants - Nobody Home

The Remnants (not to be confused with Remnant, The Remnant, nor Remnant Militia) was a punk band originally formed in Alabama in the late 90s, but then transplanted to Chicago sometime in the 2000s, where they had a connection to JPUSA and Grrrr Records. The band was a part of a sort of hardcore punk revival that was taking place in the late 90s/early 00s, a movement that included bands like Headnoise, The Discarded, Combat Junkies and a handful of others. The band’s early material featured tried and true punk sounds (no pop-punk here) mixed with a raw rock and roll influence, drawing influences from the L.A.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Cowboys & Monsters - Junkhole

This artist played an experimental eclectic mix of various electronic/hip hop music. The people/person behind the project that released 2 full lengths are anonymous. This song seems to be a remix of a song Sackcloth Fashion released called Jungle on an N’Soul compilation .

Song of the Day: Anvah - Molly Mcguire

Here is a relatively unknown band. They a cross of pop punk/rock music whom I heard on an indie Christian rock show at some point.. They released their first LP in 2009 & their most recent in 2022. This SOTD was also featured on their 2016 release Ghost of My Past.

Song of the Day: Royal - Beautiful

I love the old playful quote about the difference between knowledge and wisdom: Knowledge is knowing Frankenstein isn’t the monster. Wisdom is knowing Frankenstein is the monster! A similar thought could be applied to Norwegian band Royal: Knowledge is knowing Royal isn’t punk. Wisdom is know Royal is punk. If punk is about shedding notions of convention and rules, then Royal was as punk as they come. Royal blended genres like chefs blend fancy soups. They were simultaneously indie rock, jazz, post-hardcore, emo . . .… Continued →

IVM Year 25 Starts Now

We have entered the 25th year of this website, Indie Vision Music and I am celebrating by launching a killer new merch collaboration through MerchYeah.com/indievisionmusic. What originally began during the dot com bubble (and subsequent crash) as a simple independently minded, underground Christian music webstore in the year 2000 has morphed into the magnificent creature it is today (heavy on the winky face). I started this site out of my love for music, my faith, and being the promoter I was (I began booking my first shows at 17 in 1996), I wanted to get involved and do something different, unique.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Foreverlin -Speak

This is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard.  The band hailed from Wyoming & did a cross between worship & rock music. Wikiepedia claims they are still a band, but I haven’t heard anything from them in a few years. Check em these lyrics. There was a time that I Felt so alone I felt so alone My heart without a home In that time I thought That I was gone That I was gone From Your love Oh you find me when I fall You say, Oh son you are MY own When I doubt your love, when I doubt my worth You show me every time, that I am loved There was a time that I thought “I’m the worst” I thought the worst things About my life In that time I thought That I could draw Draw all the lines between the world And where I fall Speak what I’m worth.… Continued →

Ben S Dixon "Moths & Rust" (Feat. Nate Parrish)

The artist known as Ben S Dixon a multi instrumentalist and songwriter from the Northern Virginia area, just dropped his intense and heavy new song “Moths & Rust” which based off the verses in Matthew 6: 19-21. This has a really incredible sound and I was expecting it upon first listen. The song also features Nate Parrish which is always a good thing, right? Check out the track below and listen/stream wherever you get your music. (The lyrics are also on the YouTube video page so be to visit and check those out).… Continued →

Song of the Day: Connie Scott - Healing Waters

Canadian Connie Scott is a singer from the 80s/90s whose music I didn’t discover until this song from a  cassette tape I bought from a local Christian bookstore ( remember when there was such a thing!) It’s music & lyrical content was powerful to my 12 year old ears/mind. Attached is a site that gives more of her career & the music video from back in the day. Check out her back catalog if interested. Feel free to follow the www.castingsuchathinshadow.comn site. Al genres of “Christian” music plays along with punk/ska from 1-3 pm CST.… Continued →

R.I.P. Joel Metzger, ex-Roadside Monument

We are grieving today with our friends in Roadside Monument and fans of the indie rock innovators. This sad news came from the camp yesterday (Jan. 9, 2025): “We are sad to say that our friend and band mate, Joel Metzger passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. Joel played drums on the My Life is Green 7” and the Beside This Brief Hexagonal album as well as playing with Damien Jurado on a few of his projects. He went on to become an amazing barber / hair stylist, eventually opening his own barber shop.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Skymetal - Apocalipse

In the decade of the 2000s, there was an explosion of Christian metal bands in Brazil. For quite a while, it looked like that country, and the whole of South America, was set to completely take over Christian metal. And there were quality bands in all subgenres too from melodic metal to the extreme styles of thrash, black, and death metal. Skymetal formed in 1996 in Uberlandia, in the region of Minas Gerais, not too far away from fellow death metallers Krig, from Belo Horizonte in the same region.… Continued →

The Myriad - Ghost On a Wire (New Song and Lyric Video)

The Myriad are on a role with new music since they came back from the dead. This is the band’s 3rd new single in a year! I would go out on a limb and say that this new stuff blows away anything they’d done prior, years in the past. Beautiful stuff and really catchy in a somber, soothing manner. Check out “Ghost On a Wire” below this post in lyric (simulation) video format and let us know what you think. You can also catch an interview with Jeremy & Scott of The Myriad on The Rumors are TRUE!… Continued →

Light The Way - Lurk (Official Music Video)

Light The Way are back with another new music video for a song off their brand new full length record, “Expel”. The song is “Lurk” and features some tour footage from their recent run of dates late last year. It’s a fun video by an even funner band (is that a word?). Go check it out below this post. Also make sure to buy a copy of “Expel” on CD and Vinyl while supplies last over on their bandcamp page.… Continued →

TAKEHEART Release "History"

A new pop-punk band by the name of TAKEHEART with a definite Christian lyric center which is really cool and gives this a slight worship bent. Similar lyrically to bands like Light The Way, Homeplate, No Treaty, Take, Then It Ends, James Franchise, and other indie acts that aren’t afraid to share their spiritual center and love for Jesus but with music that doesn’t suck. This post is about a new band by the name of TAKEHEART and their brand new track “History” that you can listen to below.… Continued →

Song of the Day: The Echoing Green - Defend Your Joy

This synth-pop powerhouse hailed from New Mexico, and was spearheaded by Joey Belville. They debuted in 1994 with a light, upbeat, joyful and relatively simplistic take on synth-pop with the aptly-titled Defend Your Joy. Produced by Ronnie Martin (Joy Electric, etc.), the album oozed of positivity and an almost naive optimism. And yet, it never came off as cheesy, disingenuous, or otherwise off-putting. In fact, I think the title track is a great song to kick off a new year with. I don’t know what your 2024 was like–joyful, sorrowful, challenging, rewarding, or something else–but a focus on the joy of the Lord is always appropriate.… Continued →

Best of 2024: Rob Jensen

Looking back, I feel like 2024 was a fairly average year for music. It had it’s ups and downs, a few surprises here and there, but all in all, I feel like the albums that show up on my year-end list are going to be ones that I’ll be listening to and enjoying for many years to come. So kick back, take a look, and drop your thoughts in the comments. Here’s looking forward to 2025!!!     1. Poppy – Negative Spaces I heard of Poppy in passing for a few yrs now, but knew she was more of a pop artist.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Midnight Orchestra - Chaos

This year’s last SOTD post from me is from a project that can be very hard to determine which genre it falls into. Helmed by Mick Rowe, brother of Jamie from Guardian/Kalamity Kills and who also worked with the arena rock band Tempest, Mick wanted to work a project that would be different than all else. Both LPs Land of Nod & Digital Saviour have elements of goth, hip hop, rock and pop. CCM rock & rhythmic radio shows picked up a few songs including God, I’m a Lie, War Dance & The Cage.… Continued →

Best of 2024: Brandon Jones

Well, we have reached that year end event, the time in which Indie Vision Music posts their “Best of Lists” for the world to see. 2024 was a tumultuous year and one filled with plenty of heartbreak and tragedy for myself of which I am still recovering from in the form of grief and trauma. As much as there were lows (I’m talking low lows), there were some definite highs and highlights I might say in the form of music. Albums and EPs plastered this year, many of which have entered my year end best of list.… Continued →

Gypsy & Me Release Inspiring New Song "Ain't Done With You Yet"

Newly signed to Fair Vaux Records, the duo known as Gypsy & Me have just dropped their 2nd new single for 2024 and this one is one heck of an emotional whirlwind. The song is titled “Ain’t Done With You Yet” and has literally come out of nowhere for me. I wasn’t expecting such a pleasurable listening experience and I don’t know why I had low expectations going in. Maybe I was in the dumps emotionally during this holiday season and thinking of Gypsies in my mind I was reminded of some commune loving hippies or something.… Continued →
