Song of the Day: The Letter Black - Believe

The Letter Black is a modern female fronted rock band from Pennsylvania. Originally known as Breaking the Silence, they have released a few LPS at this stage of their career with the latest being on Seventh Day Slumber’s Joseph Rojas’ Rockfest records. Anyways, hope you like this symphonic esque rock song about believing in Jesus even though we cannot see Him. Sometimes I feel like I’m alone Hoping, praying You hear me Screaming inside to ease the pain Save me, keep me alive I’m not afraid anymore Of what I don’t know Believe, in the unknown (I put my faith, in the unknown) Believe, in God alone (I put my hope, in God alone) Have faith in what you don’t know Sometimes I feel like I have to cry Until my emotions have run dry I’m breaking inside to hide the pain Save me, keep me alive I know you’re here I can feel you now I know your love embraces me Give up all your sorrow Have faith in what you don’t know In God alone Have faith in what you don’t know You don’t know

Song of the Day: Playdough - 1 Day

Playdough aka Krum is an awesome rapper originally from Texas. He was half the duo known as Ill Harmonics which I loved back in the day with their album An Octave Above the Original. I have most everything he has done in his career & is one of my 3 faves besides Propaganda & NF. This SOTD is a humorous reference of what would you do if you knew you only had one day left on this earth.

Song of the Day: Steve Camp - He Covers Me

Steve Camp was & is a fave of mine due to his songwriting & pop rock music. This SOTD means a lot to me per its heartfelt lyrics as seen below. BTW, he is also a pastor! Oh Lord, I feel so barren and ashamed of who I am How I often felt I hid it well, it is a lie I cannot defend So I lean upon Your mercy as I confess my sin to You There is no easy way, no saving face, when I finally see the truth So let my life be filled with only You I know someday I will be free The weight of sin shall be released But for now He covers me And though the trials never end I’ve learned to take them as my friend For each day He covers me Sometimes the pressure builds around me and I feel about to break I suffer painfully from wrongs done to me but vengeance isn’t mine to take So let me glory in my weakness till Your strength’s revealed in me It is Your grace alone that helps me carry on to be the man I long to be So let Your life be perfected, Lord in me Until it’s You they see And though heartache surrounds me I know Your love is around me Nothing can separate me from You And I know it’s true

Wind Words and Yearling Release 'Splitsville' Split Album

Florida-based Wind Words first made it into the public eye due to his connection to Mark Nicks of Cool Hand Luke fame. And while a couple auxiliary releases have surfaced over the years (including a spoken word project on the minor prophets), this split album is the first full-instrumentation effort we’ve seen from Wind Words since his debut LP in 2017. Joining Wind Words is Yearling, an emo/post-rock project from West Virginia. The three Wind Words tracks were recorded by Brandon Shattuck at Parafonic Studio. You may remember Brandon from Polyvalent or Cora, and both he and Mark Nicks lend their talents on these songs.… Continued →

Rob Ray Releases New Single "Tacky"

Georgia-turned Kentucky-turned Georgia again songwriter Rob Ray has returned with a new album eventually on the horizon. “Tacky” shows his aptitude for blending humor and levity with the substance of faith. In some ways, it’s counter to the deconstruction movement – Ray acknowledges and embraces some of the kitschy qualities of 90s youth group culture but points listeners past this to something far more substantial. “I found things to make me feel better. They never made me feel better,” he notes. Material and easy solutions are not at the heart of enduring faith Musically, this is one of Ray’s strongest offerings yet – upbeat drums, soothing keys and synths, and buttery bass make this an upbeat indie-whatever song that is primed for coffeehouse playlists.… Continued →

Teddy At Night - Stole Your Lover (New Song Out Now)

Yes, Teddy did steal your lover but don’t cry, you have some great music to wipe away those tears and wash those blues away. The artist known as Teddy At Night just dropped his brand new song under the title “Stole Your Lover” (see what I did above?) and it is available through all digital networks and streaming sites now. It’s spicy and drenched in sugar pop, enough that it’ll be stuck in your head for hours. Check out the song below.… Continued →

Panther City Riots - What Do You Want (From Me) Official Lyric Video

This is a slammin’ new lyric video (and song) from that band, Panther City Riots. The band features Matt Shelton who is formerly from The Wedding and Letter Kills. This album was a sleeper hit and most of you probably missed out on it last year. Check out the lyric video for “What Do You Want (From Me)”, below and be sure to stream the entire new album now on your digital network of choice. This slaps!… Continued →

Song of the Day: The Souls Unrest - Rising

Brace yourself. The Souls Unrest has one of the more complicated histories in all of Christian metal. The roots of the band lie in old school punk band Spudgun, who released one album on Bulletproof Records (a division of Gray Dot). That band got heavier and darker, changing styles so much that a new name was warranted–World Against World. That version of the band also released one album (an amazing album at that) for Bulletproof, before morphing again. A short-lived project called The Orcrist followed, but released no official recordings.… Continued →

Song of the Day: EDL:-One's Own Self

EDL (Everyday Life) is one of my fave bands of all time. I remember hearing this demo CD along with Gryp’s Indecision back in the day & buying them. I was amazed at both & have followed them since those days. I have a few of the band members on social media & have spoken to a couple. This first album by EDL was raw & has always been my favorite. Other songs such as Bystander, Perseverance & Dis are awesome.

Song of the Day: Eli-Unqualified

Eli used to be know as Paul Falzone. He has a great biography on Christian Music Archive if you want to do a deep dive & is a role model for a Christian coming from a negative start. Jesus worked with him & he said “In life it takes a lot of manure to grow a beautiful rosebush. God has the ability to transform our lives and purify us through what happens to us everyday and though it’s rough at times, it’s incredible to feel and notice the change that is taking place in my life.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Driver Eight - Cheers

This band was the epitome of one of those all-too-common scenarios in 90s Christian music: the frustratingly great one-album wonder. Driver Eight released Watermelon via Tooth and Nail Records in 1996, to high acclaim from fans and critics alike, and then disappeared into the . . . well, that’s just it–we don’t know what happened! The album featured a highly-effective mix of alternative rock styles including Britpop (even though the band was American), quasi-shoegaze, and jangle pop. It seemed that they were channeling equally such disparate influences as Smashing Pumpkins, Catherine Wheel, R.E.M.,… Continued →
