REVIEW : Song Review: New Song From Earth Groans! Band Covers Deftones' "My Own Summer (Shove It)" (Song In Post)

Earth Groans is a metal band with an explosive, thundering sound that grips its listeners with their sound. Interest in the band in the past few years seems to have skyrocketed among fans of the genre and for good reason. So when you hear news of something new from them headed your way, you pay attention.   In a rather ambitious endeavor, the band has chosen to cover a song from the one and only Deftones. “My Own Summer” was the first single of the Deftone’s second album release, “Around the Fur” and was in instant hit and an instant classic.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Forfeit Thee Untrue - Cradled In Black Arms

South Africa’s Forfeit Thee Untrue is a metalcore hybrid with clean & unclean vocals that have their own unique sound. I like many South African bands including The Awakening, Neshamah & Tree63, but FTU (as opposed to TFU-Training for Utopia-catch the reference?!) has quickly risen to my top 5 for that country. Originally started as a 2 piece, they have evolved into 3 as 4 others have come & gone. They are currently signed to Rottweiler Records & this review is in hopes that their new album will be released soon  I was going to review the Pantera-esque Halo Crippled (released in October 2019), but looks like one was already done last year.… Continued →

Indie Vision Music x Playlist Blast Week 2

I got this idea from the whole Gamestop / AMC Theaters / Silver concept being run through Wall Street by savvy investors and reddit users. In this case we are hosting a Spotify playlist to increase exposure for some great independent talent. The goal is to get these songs to 100,000 plays. It’s a hefty goal but I think with enough attention we can get it done. These plays will not only help independent bands who own their music but also independent labels who rely on streams and purchases across digital networks (yes, including Indie Vision Music).… Continued →

BROTALITY Detonates an Insane Heavy Metal Bomb

A new band I’ve just become acquainted with called BROTALITY, have dropped their heavy metal explosion of an album titled “Worldwide Desolation” and it’s a total winner. This band is super young, all teenagers, but don’t let that stop you from consuming their overwhelmingly solid sound. Age is nothing more than a number and in the case of this band on a scale of 1 to 100, they clock in at AWESOME. It’s heavy, brutal at times, and with an altogether melodic undercurrent blending it all together.… Continued →

2Minute Minor Take a Trip Back to Their Day

2Minute Minor just dropped a special benefit “covers” album to benefit Suicide Prevention. The album features 10 covers of classic tv show theme songs including some instantly recognizable old hits that’ll get stuck in your head for days. Their unmistakable hardcore sound meshes well on these old classic theme songs and this is something you definitely need to own. Relive the past with through a heavy dose of in your face hardcore and a lens of nostalgic, child-like wonder. [Bandcamp Download]… Continued →

Support Indie Vision Music With a Button

I am enabling the PayPal donation button here on Indie Vision Music. Since this is a self-run hobby inspired website run in my off hours away from work, the financial burden can sometimes outweigh the positive outcomes of this site. There are costs involved in operating IVM, little things but unfortunately they add up. There are still bills to pay. If there is anything IVM can offer in return, please let me know in the comments and I’ll gladly support the best I can. Even just $5 can go a long way.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Silverstar - Love Sonnet

Silverstar was a 4 man band that released one LP. The electronic influence is surefire & the guy who provided it ended up starting another one-off project titled Gathering Of Souls. The song featured here has a Smashing Pumpkins vibe & has been featured on a Ballistic Test Productions comp & even a HM compilation. I love the lyrical portion where the vocalist sings “I Stand free in Jesus’ name!” at 3:03. It can be pretty hard to find information on many of these older releases so feel free to chime in if you know more about them.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Dig Hay Zoose - Struggle Fish

The funk-punk and funk-metal scene(s) rose quickly in the early 90s and then disappeared just as quickly. At one point, it was looking to be the next big thing, but as a genre it never dominated alternative rock as it once looked like it would. In fact, aside from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane’s Addiction, few in the general market ever made it big, even though bands like Fishbone and 24-7 Spyz were just as talented. However, the fusion/hybrid genre did help pave the way for other crossover genres to gain steam, particularly third wave ska (with its derivatives ska-punk and ska-core), rap-core, and industrial metal.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Temple Of The Times - Requiem For The Lost Children

Blacklight Records Californian Temple of the Times was a 2 man fare that released an EP & several remixes of the song featured here. Anthony Roberts & Bikos have created an industrial EBM laden hybrid which will surely be enjoyed by those into the softer industrial/darkwave genre.  I actually played a track of their EP on my latest Ripper Radio show. Beware, the song is different from my normal spectrum & will appeal to fans of Skinny Puppy, Circle Of Dust, Argyle Park, etc…… Continued →

Song of the Day: Re:Zound - Breathe (W/ Growl)

Formed under the name Switch in 1997, Arizona’s Re:zound switched their name after finding another band w/ the same name. Ironically, there is a current pop/synth Christian band also called Switch!  Well, Re:zound is one of those rock bands that turned into primary worship music before most had. Their second LP Re:Worship was released a couple times w/ new tracks added & is actually really good w/ great tracks such as Majesty, Great I Am, & one of my fave worship songs of all time In This Place.… Continued →

Debut Release From Doulos

One of Thumper Punk Records’ newest bands, Doulos, have released their debut ep, “The Middleman”. These guys border on punk, harcore, and street punk. I was able to see them a few years ago and have eagerly awaited this release and there’s no question, it was well worth the wait. Make sure you give this ep a listen, you won’t wanna sleep on this one!  … Continued →

New Relent Song, "Think You Got It"

Rockfest Records’ nu metal band, Relent, have released a new song, “Think You Got It” and are currently in the studio recording the followup to their debut release, “Heart Attack”. The band delivers their hard hitting style once again and continues to build the anticipation for their sophomore release. Introducing: Windvent

It’s always a pleasure to find a new band to listen to and many times I find myself wondering how I’m only now hearing about them, especially when they sound so good.   Windvent is a progressive post-hardcore band from Chihuahua, Mexico. They have a very heavy, yet melodic sound. The guitarwork is incredible and the vocals range from sounding like Mouth of the South to Lifelong, and also feature some really great sounding cleans. Excellent lyrics! The band released a few singles in the past year or two and have a full length release, “Relief” that dropped in 2018.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Tragedy Ann - Eugene

Much like the song Hey Gene by The Choir, this song is an homage to the late Gene Eugene who fronted mainly Adam Again, but also conspired on various other projects. Tragedy Ann’s band members have risen from the ashes of one of my fave 90s bands Sometime Sunday (especially their Stone release) & then went to start a rock ‘n roll worship band literally called The Rock & Roll Worship Circus. This song reminds us to be humble no matter what our profession is and inspire others to look to our Saviour Jesus.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Circle of Dust - Aggressor (Regressive Mix)

Industrial music has a long and complicated history, which we don’t have time to get deeply into here. Its roots lie in avant garde experimentalism of the 1970s, its name coming from literal industrial sounds as its inspiration. As the genre developed, it became intertwined with other styles–most notably dance music and techno, or at the other end of the spectrum heavy metal, and occasionally even hip-hop. For the longest time, Blackhouse (featured here) was the only industrial band exploring Christian themes, but all of their albums were released as imports and mostly on secular and/or independent labels.… Continued →

Metalcore Collab: Our Eternity - Bloodstained

Fit For A King vocalist Ryan Kirby (band whom is on my bucket list to see live) & Currents guitarist Chris Wiseman (whom I have seen live last year) have teamed up for this new band Our Eternity. Starting with a keyboard intro then crescendoing into almost a black metal scream before erupting into a metalcore verse complete with clean & unclean vocals is how this barnburner rolls. To hear this & other loud music, tune in to the Castingsuchathinshadow radio show on Ripper Radio from 6-7 pm CST. … Continued →

Inner 29 - Outside (Official New Song Stream)

Inner 29 return in 2021 with an exciting brand new song titled “Outside”. Check out the really cool new track from the Brazil based pop-punk/emo band, below. The song was recorded during the pandemic and mixed/mastered by none other than famed Florida producer, James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Underoath, Further Seems Forever, etc). Melodic yet moody and very mature new direction for the band is a welcomed change and sure to win them over a great deal of new fans across the globe. Hear their refreshing sound below and make sure to follow them on social media here or at @inner29band.… Continued →
