The beginning electronics had me worried this album was going in a direction I didn’t like. By the end of the song I was excited, “Still Alive” is a good straightforward single that avoids feeling tired and overdone. “Losing Control” reminds me of their work on End of Silence, the brooding nature it carries really makes me wonder where it will sit in the tracklist and work with the rest of the album. I appreciate the double song release , really excited to hear the full thing.

“Still Alive” actually gives me Vital-era Anberlin vibes in the instrumentation. The end of “Losing Control” is incredible too. It blows my mind that I still find myself loving this band when literally every other band in this genre disinterests me. They don’t switch things up much, but they’ve refined their sound a lot and their last album and these new songs really sound better than ever. Happy for these guys.
