A really cool new microphone brand that I just stumbled upon through Kickstarter this morning is being brought to the forefront by none other than Reese Roper of Five Iron Frenzy and Brave Saint Saturn. He also mentions a “New Wave” project by the name of Heartwrench, coming soon (so excited for this). His new microphone company – ARCLIGHT MICROPHONES, has just launched on Kickstarter and they are seeking to raise $10,000 to cover costs of creating this one of a kind new design/concept. The goal is bring forth a high quality, high end, built to last microphone for a fraction of the cost most musicians and studio people pay for a product that ultimately sounds the same. You can click here for the campaign to watch some videos and read up on all that is going into this experience. This sounds like a unique concept and one I am sure a lot of musicians are going to jump on.

Being an associate at Shure for the past decade, and one of the biggest FIF fans out there, this is very interesting news; although, the mic looks a little cheesy. Guess I will have to try it out before I criticize it further.
