I missed posting about this last week due to illness but I’m back and just had to tell you all about this amazing new track solo acoustic-punk songwriter, Sef Idle. Sharing a lot in common with songwriters like Chuck Ragan, Joey Cape, Tony Sly, Billie Joe Armstrong, Ted Bond, and Trever Keith but incorporating his own original flavor and style. The song “A Place To Call Home” is pure poetry in motion and a song with a story to share. Sef wears his punk badge proudly, straying not far from his roots in a scene that he spent years working through. Years of pain, struggle, and determination shines through on this really gut wrenching anthem. Hard working “blues” flows through from these chords and the gentle strummed guitar. I’ve been a fan of Sef’s for years and I think this song, as simple as it may sound, is as honest and true as you can get. Check out the song below and make sure to support Sef Idle every opportunity you get by buying on bandcamp here.
