The Classic Crime are returning after last year’s sleeper hit, “Patterns in the Static”, to record and release yet another full length record, their 7th. You can check out their Kickstarter campaign right here and contribute to get the goods or wait until it reaches digital markets in late 2021 or early 2022. How many Classic Crime fans do we have here?
The Classic Crime Return To Fund 7th Album

I used to love The Classic Crime; The Silver Cord is all time great, and Phoenix is also right up there for me, packed with quality tracks. Sadly, I found their last 2 albums underwhelming, despite wanting to like them. I’ll still check out LP7 but with subdued expectations.
Curious to know what others liked about Patterns in the Static? For me the best 2 songs where the last 2 – The Water’s Edge, and Before I Woke Up.
Wasn’t Patterns in the Static released this year?
Yes I think you’re right. Typo
This is a band that’s always been on my radar but I’ve never really listened to them. Any good places people would recommend starting at?
I’m so conflicted. One one hand, I think The Classic Crime is decent for the most part – but I really can’t get past some of the theological concerns with the universalist tendencies. Musically, things are hit or miss at times and even their best albums seem pretty spotty for me. I’ll probably give it a spin out of curiosity but that’s problem as far as I’ll go.
