Seth Davey (Ex-Attalus) Begins Kickstarter to Record "Hymns in Hindsight"

Seth Davey, a former member of the late great post-hardcore/indie band, Attalus, has returned with another collection of songs under his name, this one titled “Hymns in Hindsight”. He has launched a new kickstarter here and will be donating 1/2 the money rasied on kickstarter to Ashe County, North Carolina relief efforts which has been devastated by Hurricane Helene a few weeks ago and of which he shares a common story with the people and land there. Consider supporting this Kickstarter and you’ll be blessed with not only some amazing and beautiful music I might add but also see some of your money go to a great cause and help people in that part of the country who desperately need our help.… Continued →

Till You're All I See - Seth Davey

REVIEW : Till You're All I See - Seth Davey

Prior to 2015’s stunning Into the Sea, Attalus was a fairly unknown. Fronted by Seth Davey, vocalist, pianist, and lyricist, this Facedown debut made plenty best-of-the-year lists. Though Davey has since amicably parted with the band, he has nonetheless kept up with musical endeavors which come to fruition in his debut solo album, Till You’re All I See. While this isn’t an Attalus record by any means, it’s hard to overlook the common elements. Davey again brings lyrical brilliance, this time in a more bare and vulnerable manner with naught more than piano to complement his vocals.… Continued →

Seth has written several recent Children’s books (I bought a few and gave one to my kid’s kindergarten teacher last year) and they are just wonderful stories filled with hope. The stories are all rooted firmly in Biblical principals and teach your children valuable life lessons. Speaking of Attalus, the band will be performing at “AURA Fest” in Savannah, Georgia on February 18th!… Continued →

REVIEW : Attalus - The Greater Tide EP

Imagine what it might sound like if Emery were heavily influenced by the big band jazz sounds of the 1940s. Now take out most of the screams and throw in a chunk of 90s melodic punk and some classic Stavesacre for good measure. The resulting mix is Attalus, as heard on The Greater Tide EP.
