Ethan Luck Launches New Campaign for Ska / Reggae Album

Ethan Luck is a veteran. This seasoned musician and songwriter has been playing on albums for more pretty much all of his entire adult life. He has worked with nearly everyone from Pax (before the ‘217’), Project 86, The Dingees, Value Pac, OC Supertones, Demon Hunter, Relient K, recently as touring musician with Kings of Leon and of course his solo work. This new album will continue some of the more “punk” aspects of his last few solo releases and aim the focus directly at Ska and Reggae sounds, incorporating them in his punk rock aesthetic.… Continued →

Best of 2017: Rob Jensen

2017 was a pretty decent year for music! Between finding newer bands, the resurgence of others from years of inaction, and great albums from bands we’ve come to love and depend on for great music, it was pretty tough to be disappointed. Below, are the 20 albums that I consider to be the year’s best. If there are bands there you haven’t heard of, I hope you check them out, you never know…maybe one of them would’ve made your top spot. And please, drop a line in the comments and let me know your thoughts!… Continued →

The Best of 2007: Favorite Hits From 10 Years Ago

Hey friends it’s that time again, time for another “list”. Feel free to offer up your big Laugh-Out-Louds and smirks for some “hits” I found appealing 10 years ago. A lot of stuff from that year was enjoyed by me, some I am rediscovering, and others were missed opportunities. Check out my “list” below and feel free to listen to the playlist I created on Spotify for this list found in the article. Remember kids, “some” of these releases may not have the best language so if you get queasy at the thought of dirty words from general market (do we still use the word ‘secular’?)… Continued →

The Showdown streams live acoustic video

The southern metal band, The Showdown has not announced that they are back together, but they did do live stream where they played an acoustic song. The band started years ago in 1999 as 2450, but didn’t become The Showdown until 2003. They released four albums, two through Mono vs. Stereo and two through Solid State Records. The band may be hinting at a reunion, but expect an original lineup. Members Patrick Judge and Jeremiah Scott are probably really busy with Demon Hunter and probably won’t be able to perform.… Continued →

Soul Embraced: New/Old Member and Shows

The death metal band Soul Embraced has come out of their hiatus and are making a new album. Today the band announced they were doing shows and put out a post asking where fans would want to see them next. Former Bassist Jeff Bowie has also announced that he has rejoined the band and is pulling “double duties”, with Soul Embraced’s labelmates Becoming Saints. So with that, I think it’s safe to assume that Jon Dunn of Demon Hunter is no longer apart of the band.… Continued →

Demon Hunter - Half As Dead

Demon Hunter, metalcore act, has released yet another single from their upcoming album, Outlive, called “Half As Dead”. Over the years, the lineup has solidified as Ryan (Vocals), Jon Dunn (Bass), Patrick Judge (Guitar), Jeremiah Scott (Guitar), and Timothy “Yogi” Watts (Drums). The album is due out on March 31. The new track is called “Half As Dead”. Like all the songs I’ve heard from the new album, it’s heavy, but melodic.… Continued →

Demon Hunter Release "Jesus Wept" to Pledgers

No I’m not going to share this song with anyone BUT I do want to share the lyrics. This is a powerful Demon Hunter song both musically and lyrically. Bringing back that classic HEAVY Demon Hunter sound along with guitar solos and banging, hard charging percussion. I’m loving this song. You can still pre-order this insane new album right here and get ready for the return of Demon Hunter in just a few weeks.… Continued →

NYVES - Fall Behind

Check out a lyric video for the NYVES song “Fall Behind”, below. Their debut full length “Anxiety” will be out this coming Tuesday via Spartan Records. The subdued electronic soundscape is the perfect soundtrack for any film, rainy day mood, and life event. Ryan Clark and Randy Torres know how to clothe you in a moody, electronic wrap cloaked in mystery and uniqueness. I can honestly say there are hardly any other “bands” with this sound in the little music scene we frequent. While this is certainly no rock oriented Demon Hunter or Project 86, you can still expect greatness in the music and be entranced by the delivery.… Continued →
