Nickelback will return to the stage again and this time they are taking out the band Makeshift3 for a string of dates, mostly at coffee shops and and church basements. Nickelback will be supporting their new “worship” record – “How The Bible Reminds Me” which features 12 very catchy, radio friendly tunes consisting entirely of melodies from “How You Remind Me” & “Photograph” but based on different bible verses. How awesome is Wolves At The Gate? I mean seriously, this band has released 4 full lengths (with 1 on the way), 3 EPs, and 1 Covers Ep plus stuff they may have done independently, all the while slipping under most people’s radars. I absolutely love this band and think their powerful music is worthy of repeat listens as well as all the fanfare coming their way. When Bloodgood’s lead guitarist left the band to go solo, fans of the 80s metal stalwarts weren’t entirely sure what to expect. We probably assumed more heavy metal–at least that’s what I expected. And while there is certainly some hard rock (almost glam metal) at times, The Other Side was much broader in scope. Dallas Taylor and the boys in Maylene And The Sons of Disaster have surprised everyone by posting some info regarding new music and a music video that will drop soon. According to sources here and here, there is even a pic of Dallas Taylor with former Underoath bassist/guitarist, Octavio Fernandez. No exact word yet on when this new music video (or new music itself) will drop, but we will try and keep you updated. Gold Frankincense & Myrrh (stylized as GFM) is a metal band comprised of 3 sisters. With so much talent for being so young, this band has a great future & have put out so much music in so little time. This review is also in reference to my friend Blake who runs Reanimated Radio who likes this band as much as I do! Theocracy I believe are quite possibly one of the strongest modern metal bands alive, fight me! This lesser known but still extremely talented and gut wrenching band, are working on a new album which would be their first in more than 5 years. Relent has been around and making music longer than most realize; most likely myself included. A 2 song ep in 2016, the Heart Attack ep (2019), the re-release of the Heart Attack ep (2020), with 2 new tracks, and now a full length, aptly titled, “Heavy”. And yes. Yes, it is. From the first listen to these guys a number of yrs ago, I was hooked. I’m a sucker for downtuned guitars with well constructed grooves, thunderous drums, and a mix of rapped/sung/screamed vocals. Skillet, have just released their brand new song titled “Surviving The Game” and there is a music video to accompany the track (check it out below). This song continues in that same current Skillet sound tradition and their sound is complimented by high end production as well as musicianship. I really think Jen’s background vocals give this track an extra layer of oomf that further compliments their already classic, rock sound. Living Fire recently dropped a new ep, titled “Mercy Between Love & Hate”. This release was different than what I was expecting, but a in a really good way. The new ep shows the guys leaning in a much more hard rock/nu metal direction and they pull it off quite well. I’ve given the release a number of listens since it dropped and have yet to find a song I feel the need to skip or that feeling of wearing any of it out, so, to me, this release has great listenability (yes, I just came up with that, shut it, haha) as well as repeatability.… Continued →

Most covers are just quickly mashed together, lacking any real emphasis on originality, pulling an existing song out of it’s sameness and reigniting it to a whole new level. Well my friends, Lightworker have taken the old song “Crawling in the Dark” from 00’s rockers – Hoobastank, and given it a whole new life. Most people don’t know that Hoobastank created a whole bunch of music/songs before The Reason took over airwaves and people’s hearts.
