Project 86 Re-Release "Self Titled" 1998 Album

Andrew Schwab and Project 86 have just made their debut 1998 “Self Titled” album available once again for streaming/digital purchase. The album has been offline for a number of years probably due to some offense with the song “Independence?”. This album put the Orange County, CA. band on the map in 1998 and by the time of “Drawing Black Lines” in 2000, this band’s mark was clearly felt. I was lucky enough to witness the band’s first few shows back when Ethan Luck was in the band and they had a very heavy, aggressive, RATM influence.… Continued →

Demon Hunter Drop New Cover Songs of Face To Face and LIVE

According to the Demon Hunter facebook page, they have dropped two new cover songs but are only available through their Blessed Resistance Club. I am not a member so I can’t vouch for how these sound but if their prior music is any indication, these 2 covers are going to melt my face off, literally (and no pun intended). Demon Hunter cover the classic Face to Face punk rock anthem, “Disconnected”, as well as the hit 90’s alt rock song “Lightning Crashes” from the now classic 1994 rock album “Throwing Copper” by one of my favorite bands, LIVE.… Continued →

Introducing: Mahalath (Industrial Metal)

I’d like to take a moment and introduce our readers to this cool new industrial/electronic/rock project known as Mahalath. The project features dark sounds and industrial like moodiness running through with fists in the air like urgency. Making one think isn’t always at the forefront of some artists in the music scene but Joel Holycross (Mayfly) and this new project is certainly a different take on substance in music. Read more below and listen to the first song “The Proxy”.… Continued →

REVIEW : Relent - Heart Attack (Revisited Review)

A little over a year ago, I wrote a review for “Heart Attack” by new(er) nu metal band, Relent. Recently, the band has re-released the ep on Rockfest Records and so, I thought I’d re-review the re-release. Without looking back to the review done last March, let’s revisit “Heart Attack”, including the newly added tracks. I will say that since the initial review done last March, my love and excitement for the ep hasn’t waned a bit; it has longevity. For an album, much less an ep, to maintain its excitement and “go-to” factor after a year says something.… Continued →

The Letter Black Signs To Rockfest Records

In an announcement made earlier tonight, The Letter Black announced they’ve signed with Rockfest Records. Not much else is firmed up at the time of this post, such as when to expect the first single or new album, but there are shows scheduled starting in June (tentatively, for obvious reasons). Rockfest Records has been in the practice of signing some really great bands since their inception just over 2 years ago…what do you guys think of this signing?… Continued →

Ocean Dark Present "Voice to the Nations"

A friend just turned me on to this great new band out of Finland called “Ocean Dark”. They are a guitar driven hard rock band with an indie current running throughout. Solid lyrics, solid sound, and incredibly well put together. I encourage you to check out this new release and watch the lyric video for “Overdose” below. Recommended for fans of H.I.M., Queens of the Stone Age, Narnia, and Sinbreed.… Continued →

Skillet Debut New Music Video: "Save Me"

Skillet dropped a new music video today for the single, “Save Me”. One of the heavier, grittier tunes off the band’s most recent release, “Victorious”, the video for “Save Me” was recorded while the band was on tour in Los Angeles. About “Save Me,” John Cooper stated, “This song is about the darker side of you that you are afraid to show people. ‘If they only knew how messed up I am, would they still love me?’ This song is about getting honest and asking for help, both spiritually and naturally speaking.… Continued →

Seeking "Cover Songs" by Christian Artists for New Playlist on Spotify

I am sending this post out there into the webiverse to gather songs for a new spotify playlist I just created. It is (tentatively) being called “The Best Christian Cover Songs” and is a play off Christians who cover popular (and not so popular) songs. Please list artist name covering a song and song title below this post in the comments section so I can take your suggestions and add them. What you see now on Spotify is just me recalling stuff off the top of my head.… Continued →

The cover is pretty well done and covers both a bit of clean worshipful ground, while giving it a bit of a hard rock feel as well. Check it out below for yourself and see what you think!  … Continued →
