I’ve heard a pre-release, unmastered copy of the new Homeplate album and it GOES HARD! I wasn’t expecting this but I do love it and can’t wait till all our IVM friends stumble upon it. Even though this isn’t an IVM release, I can’t help but sing it’s many praises and send a little promotion their way. This is a more grown up Homeplate and a more heavy sounding album both from a production standpoint and their musicianship in general. It reminds me of “Chuck” era Sum 41 (and the latest album) meets Strung Out meets Four Year Strong meets old AFI with a little modern hardcore thrown in for good measure.… Continued →

Chaotic, and heavy, this one man project known as “Pipe Bomb”, just dropped the explosive (no pun intended) debut many of us have been waiting for. The 6 song ep titled “Stomp” is out now on all digital networks and streaming sites. It’s tough to describe this project and it’s one of those things you just have to listen to and draw your own conclusions. It can’t be summarized into a nifty little “review” that as they are, can be quite subjective. Heavy, old school hardcore punk band named Dispraised are back with a double album release on one 12″ Vinyl Records through new label upstart – Coleiosis Records. This heavy hitting band has had a couple songs land on the billboard Christian Radio charts during the past year or so and it’s amazing to see them grow. It appears that the much loved FURNACE FEST is BACK! After over a decade away, the festival will return with a huge lineup in September of 2020. This was an enormous festival back in the day that featured some of the most loved and adored bands. Imagine that dream lineup of your favorite bands from the late 90’s and early 00’s and that sums up this fest back in the day.
