Something I’ve kept under wraps for a few weeks and a piece of news that I am truly excited about. The East Coast band – DENS, have indeed signed with California based record label Facedown Records and will release “No Small Tempest” Ep on June 29th. You can take a listen to the powerful new song titled “Deadrise” below. All you fans of Saosin, Thrice, My Epic, Attalus, and Armor For Sleep, will absolutely adore this new music. Facedown Records taking a chance on the more “rock” oriented bands like My Epic, Everything in Slow Motion, Attalus, and now DENS, is the best move they’ve ever made.… Continued →

Talkie, the band comprised of a few former members of the great Blood & Water, has returned with their 2nd full length effort called “Fundamental Things”. Right now for next 48 hours you can download the album for $1 via their bandcamp here. Great production quality and catchy indie-pop songs but I seriously want one more Blood & Water album. REVIEW : Stavesacre - MCMXCV
First things first. Have you heard thereās a new Stavesacre album out? Yeah? I bet youāre wondering who played on it? This is the classic 5-member line-up:
Mark Salomon – vocals
Sam West – drums
Dirk Lemmenes- Bass
Ryan Dennee – guitar
Jeff Bellew ā guitar
Besides the Against the Silence EP in 2009, this line-up hasnāt made a record together since Speakeasy. Of course, what most readers will be wondering is, ācan they still bring it?ā Does this album hit as hard as Speakeasy did?… Continued →

REVIEW : Fighting Jacks - Decade
Don’t listen to this album if you want to feel happy. Lyrically and musically, this is moody alternative rock taken to its logical conclusion. Decade brims with melancholy: “All the beauty I ever wanted is going to fade away” (“Fade; Decay”); “…helpless in will, my body just gave up” (“Do You Wanna Find Out?”); āThereās no one on the road that I can call a friendā (“Closer”). Fighting Jacks like their vocals and guitars loud, making for some of the best rock I’ve heard in a long while on songs like “Fade; Decay” and “Come On Come On.”… Continued →

The Sprinkle brothers are back! If you donāt know who that is, then stop reading. Go and find Poor Old Lu, The World Inside, Aaron Sprinkle, Paloma, Fair . . . I could go on but Iām using up valuable reviewing space (and I didnāt even mention the production credits)! Considering who is involved in this project, you might think you already know what itās going to sound like. And sure, you might be in the right ballparkāalternative/indie rock with a capital Rock. Oh, Eternity Release Brand New Full Length "I Exist"
You all need to give this new release from rising indie pop-rock band Oh, Eternity a chance. It’s an insanely awesome album filled with unforgettable melodies, vocals you can sing along with, and just enough “pop” where it’s not too overbearing. So many influences shine through on this release but if you were to make comparisons I’d say imagine a combination of Academy Is.., Plain White Ts, Edison Glass, Hearts Like Lions, My Epic, and Walk the Moon. It’s a diverse set of songs and an album I’m sure that many of you would welcome into your stereos.… Continued →

Young Oceans to Release Epic New Album October 20th
I have been privileged enough that I get to give the new Young Oceans record a listen. The album titled “Suddenly (Or The Nuclear Sunburst of the Truth Revealed)”, is a haunting trip through new wave instrumentation and worship centered musical adventure. The songs which remind me somewhat of a melting of styles, imagine The Killers meets The Decemberists and Death Cab For Cutie meets Cool Hand Luke at an intersection with the passing of Rend Collective. The weirdest comparison I can make is that I even hear a sliver of Chris Isaac.… Continued →
