The Beautiful Mistake return with their first new song in over 15 years. To brush my bangs to the side, or not to, that is the question. For some, emo means The Jazz June, but for others, it means Hawthorne Heights … ad infinitum. While emo is a genre that is difficult to define, I would say that Chase Tremaine combines emo, indie, and pop—think Mae or Number One Gun. Facedown Records is bringing their much loved annual festival – Facedown Fest – to Orange County, CA this time, on March 6th & 7th at the famed Chain Reaction Club in Anaheim. I don’t know what it is but maybe today’s dark and stormy skies along with a heavy downpour elicits a moody yet introspective response to music. A song such as “Handshake” really makes you stop and think. I still believe after all these years that the band Black Eyed Sceva (and later known as ‘Model Engine’) were brilliant songwriters, Jeremy Post in particular. There was something magical in their music and the way they conveyed these emotions through song. They may not have been widely known or celebrated as “Rock stars” but their music was incredibly important to me.… Continued →

Yet to disappoint, White Collar Sideshow has dropped a new video this past week for their cover of The Doors track, “Break On Through (To the Other Side)”. The band’s take on it is consistent with the edgy southern hard rock feel we’ve heard off their other releases off the upcoming album, “I Didn’t Come Here To Die”, set for release on October 4th on Curtain Call Records.
