Love & Death, the nu-metal band, have finally started working on new music. And just as I discovered that J.R. Bareis has left Islander, alongside the other two non-original members of Islander, they have begun guitar tracking with ex-Red, current Breaking Benjamin guitarist Jasen Rauch. The band currently consists of Brian Welch on vocals, J.R. on guitars and Dan Johnson on drums. Bassist Michael Valentine departed last year, without any official reason. Bareis and Rauch have begun recording guitars for the album. … Continued →

Islander has some cool songs. They are also known for having an interesting stage presence, what with JR Bareis and his costumes. Well for Islander’s new video for their song “Better Day”, it seems to be Vocalist Mikey Carvajal this time, with his cheetah print sleeves. But not to make that the point of this, the song is very uplifting and pleasant. It reminds me personally of some P.O.D.’s more uplifting songs. So the guys in Islander came across a track of theirs called “Wake Up!” that had been leaked online and were cool enough about it to share. I’m assuming the song was recorded during their time in the studio recording their most recent album, “Power Under Control”. The song is pretty killer and also features Jonathan Davis from Korn. An album I’ve been enjoying since it was released back in August is by the band Islander. The album is called “Power Under Control” and it has that Blindside meets POD meets Deftones meets Papa Roach vibe.
