The Devil Wears Prada - Watchtower (Official Music Video)
Missed posting this 2 weeks ago. Does this fit here? Anyway, TDWP as they are known (or ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ for short), have just dropped a new music video for the song “Watchtower” and it is heavy (not to mention chaotic). Check out the music video, below.… Continued →

Song of the Day: The Dwelling-The Gospel
The Dwelling is an incarnation of the band Die To Yourself, another metalcore act. This SOTD is basically a metalcore worship song that seems put of place as track #11. I love this one as it reminds of a spirit filled hxc song maybe akin to Sleeping Giant or Context.

Song of the Day: The Warning - Condemned to Hell
If you’ve been around the Christian punk/metal/hardcore/indie scene for any amount of time, you will likely have heard the name Burrito. Not his real name, of course–the man David Villalpando was a legend in the underground scene. Sadly, the man that many called a friend passed away this week from covid-related illness. For those who didn’t know him, it is difficult to overstate his impact on the scene.
From a musical standpoint, while none of his projects ever achieved mainstream success or financial prosperity, they were always on the bleeding edge of innovation.… Continued →

25 Of My Favorite Albums From 1996
This is my 25th anniversary tribute to albums that released during the year of 1996 (and/or presumed to have released during this particular year). It was a monumental year in underground, indie music and one that was ignited by artists sharing a similar Christian Faith. While the rest of the world was consuming their Michael W Smith, or Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, DC Talk, Amy Grant, Rebecca St. James, Jars of Clay, or even that guy who wrote the Butterfly Kisses song, we on the indie circuit side of things were rejoicing with a newfound optimism.… Continued →

A band that seems to be garnering a lot of interest called “Diamonds to Dust“, dropped an EP titled “Decisions” earlier this year and are one we’d like to alert readers to. Check out this most recent song titled “Adventure Time”. It is extremely heavy and sure to get heads banging, and skulls cracking. Check it out below. Song of the Day: Luti-Kriss - Patiently Philadelphia
Luti-Kriss is the first incarnation of Norma Jean, a metalcore band that I think I have seen more than any other artist live. This band is what first got me into Christian heavy music for their open profession of Jesus. The vocalist (Josh Scoggins) at the time eventually went on to start The Chariot, which was another great band to see live, & ’68. They were on tour with Living Sacrifice & Dead Poetic if my memory serves me correctly at the time & Josh was hanging from the rafters from the venue.… Continued →

Song of the Day: The Agony Scene - We Bury Our Dead At Dawn
The Agony Scene is friggin’ heavy. I remember it seemd this band & AILD came out at roughly the same time. I loved this debut & not As IU Lay Dying better as the song quality was tons better. Plus I was into the goth & metal scene & fishnets & eyeliner & Hot Topic & all that. Crowd surfed at Norma Jean shows & hung out with Zao & Stretch Armstrong at New Brookland Tavern in Columbia, SC. Well this song is a killer tune, but also check out the debut as there isn’t a dud on it.… Continued →

REVIEW : Wage War - Manic
Wage War hit the metalcore scene with a ferocity in 2015 with the release of their debut album, “Blueprints”. Prior to this, they were known as Empires and had an ep called “The Fall of Kings” which is quite impressive! The first two albums, “Blueprints” and “Deadweight” were very well received by fans of the genre, however the third, “Pressure”, which was released a little over 2yrs ago, had something of a mixed reception. While ardent fans of the band’s previous material thought they were getting too poppy or mellowing out, others applauded some of the new directions the band was branching out to.… Continued →

Don’t know who this band is, well take a peek below.… Continued →

New Indie Vision Music Spotify Playlists
Myself and Noah have been hard at work on creating a variety of Spotify Playlists featuring many bands covered by Indie Vision Music as well as other artists you might recognize. Check out the “Pop Punk Essential Playlist” I created a few weeks ago as well as the “New Song Hits” Playlist I just morphed from the prior “Song Blast” one. Each has new and recent songs from a collection of artists. A little disclaimer: The Pop Punk Essential Playlist is not one that features Christian music only artists.… Continued →
Song of the Day: Point of Recognition - I Don't Deserve You
Point of Recognition was a metalcore/spirit filled hardcore band that changed their sound after their Admiration of a Son LP. The band came onto the scene when Underoath was still in their early days & No Innocent Victim was huge. TBH I never did care for their muddy hardcore sound after Admiration. This SOTD was chosen due to its sound & great lyrics, but also check out Return to Strength, A Path Unknown & Unlawful Burden.
I thank you Lord for the grace you’ve shown me sometimes I just don’t know why, because there’s no creature ever so more wretched than I, and I will bow down with my face to the floor from all those times that I’ve searched for something more, but I will dry those tears and hold my head up high, cause I stand a conqueror in Jesus name.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Wage War -Grave
Wage War is a newer band in my collection. Disclaimer-They seem to be a quasi-Christian band as has had not too much recognition in the Christian market, but I have seen their videos that hint at the subject. Other bands that fall in the quasi category are Memphis May Fire, The Devil Wears Prada, Gideon, etc… Anyways, this song is so darn catchy & just happens to be one I can relate to. Just know that in Jesus, anyone can change if they let the Holy Sprit lead.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Besieged - The Years Between
How often have you gone back to listen to an album that was more than 10 years old, only to find it didn’t hold up as well as you thought it would? A sloppy guitar part here, or a bad mixing job there, or even just song ideas that didn’t really work as well in hindsight?
I first heard Atlantis in 2007 when I was asked to review it for Uprise Zine (if you remember that publication, give me a shout!) While I definitely remember liking it, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it sounds 14 years after its release.… Continued →

Phinehas Provide a Little Metal Relief From Reality
Getting your mind off world events, Covid and all variant insanity, the heat of summer, well then might I suggest some guitar heavy music from Phinehas to drown out the noise? Phinehas, a band I’ve been a fan of since right before they joined their first record label like 15 years ago, are back in an absolutely incredible manner. Their brand of metal(core) has been missed and this new song “In The Night” is certainly no exception to their greatness. The band’s new album “The Fire Itself” is out August 27th on Solid State Records and you can pre-order here.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Then It Ends - It Is Well
Rising from the ashes of 2 other bands (one of which A Past Unknown has been played on a few Christian radio shows, including Ohio’s RadioU), Iowa’s Then It Ends is a metalcore band that has some great melodic stuff. Besides their most awesome energetic Kingdom which has profound lyrics (Someone else already beat me to a quasi review on July 3, 2014!), their rendition of Bethel’s It Is Well is worship music with a metalcore twist. Be prepared to raise your hands in worship to our Saviour Jesus with this one.… Continued →

A GoFundMe has been set up on the family’s behalf to help his wife and children during this very difficult time and we encourage our readers to consider contributing.
