REVIEW : Phinehas - Dark Flag
You probably didn’t realize it, but Phinehas has been around for nearly 18 years. Although they only rose from obscurity in 2011 with their debut album Thegodmachine, Phinehas has now put out another reason why they are becoming the giants in the genre.
Freshly signed to Solid State Records, the California metal band puts out their most technical and stunning release to date. Dark Flag is a concept album that doesn’t necessarily tell a story, but follows a theme of struggle in a violent and oppressing regime.… Continued →

Support BrokenFM GoFundMe to Repair and Replace Burnt Equipment from the Nor Cal Fires
Please support my friends Tim Hopkins and Chris Kuhner in getting the incredible independent Christian alt-rock station BrokenFM back up on the air. I absolutely love this station and support their efforts at putting positive, hopeful music out there in the world. BrokenFM lost their transmitting towers/equipment. BrokenFM has been kind to IVM recently in playing tracks from some of our artists both on air and through internet streaming. It’s a tragedy what happened back a month or two ago with those fires up North.… Continued →

DIRE - Beyond Reach
Raging metalcore act, DIRE has released their third single off of their upcoming EP, Depths. The track is called “Beyond Reach”. The track is brutal! But that’s no surprise; DIRE always brings the heavy with their music and message. Another thing, it would appear that DIRE has a new member (or maybe an old one) in the midst of their lineup. Former Guitarist Kyle Robinson has rejoined the band. Keep that in mind when you check out this new track and the other two that came out.… Continued →

War of Ages - Cut Throat (Lyric Video)
The insanely talented metal(core) band, War Of Ages, returns with their politically charged new anthem titled “Cut Throat”. The song and it’s lyrics are basically an answer to all the movements on both sides that incite violence and hatred without offering any clear direction. It’s a hopeful call to arms in a biblical sense and doesn’t hold back lyrically. This is a band that has always stood for what is good and right and clearly points people towards a biblical worldview without being ashamed. Bold and unafraid, ready to share in love and out of a love that comes from a relationship with our savior Jesus Christ.… Continued →

XIII Minutes - Machaira (Lyric Video)
We are excited to bring you the brand new lyric video from Rottweiler Records act, XIII Minutes. The song is titled “Machaira” and can be purchased right here via bandcamp.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised that “Machaira” has been as well received as it has. It’s a bit slower in tempo than what we’ve released to date. Not that I’m complaining though… I appreciate Indie Vision Music for premiering this lyric video. It’s been my favorite one. There is a subtle, yet powerful imagery to it.… Continued →

Nihilio Reunite and Begin Work On First New Material in 10 Years
Nihilio is a band you might recognize from the archives of Indie Vision Music. Back in the day this band put out some mighty fine explosive metalcore jams and even a few of their songs ended up on old IVM Compilations. Well the band has reunited and are in the studio with Matt Goldman recording their first new material in 10 years. This little heard underground band is about to explode on the music scene yet again and when they do, your face will be obliterated!… Continued →

Send The Advocate Drummer Departs From Band
Sadly, Send The Advocate has announced some sad news. On September 11, the band announced that original Drummer Damian Hyde has departed from the band. It was stated he departed due to difference in direction and so that he could focus more on his other project Perceive//Persist. Hyde will perform the shows the band has already lined up, which I was fortunate to see the most recent one with Earth Groans. The band is currently looking for new drummers, hit them up if you are interested.… Continued →

The Best of 1997: Favorite Hits From 20 Years Ago
Yep, the list you’ve all been waiting for (not really) is finally here. Feel free to offer up some laughs and critical remarks for the music I listened to the most 20 years ago. You’ll notice a heavy T&N presence and I just couldn’t help myself. There were a lot of albums and releases I found myself spinning back then and still getting plays today. I think that’s where this list falls in place, it’s the albums that had the longest lasting impact with me and had a catchy sound that I just couldn’t get enough of.… Continued →
