The Recovery System Drop New Song "Live Like This"

A new band hitting the scene hard is called “The Recovery System” from Portland, Oregon. It is melodic, heavy, and pop-punkish. The new song is titled “Live Like This” feat. Kaylene Barber. The sound is reminiscent of bands like Anberlin, The Wedding, Amber Pacific, Search The City, A Day to Remember, and Autopilot Off. Its really a diverse project and still sticks to the punk rock aesthetic running throughout. Check out both new songs below.… Continued →

For the first time ever on IVM, Light The Way gets the interview treatment. Check out my questions and answers with Andrew (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Christian Moore (Guitar), and Christian Appel (Drums) [Evan is missing in action, sorry pal] from Light The Way, below. About the song “Hope”: “For me, Hope is a birds eye view of how sinful we as a human race really are, and at the end of the day, the only thing that really gives me hope that reaches beyond “just living a good life,” is that Jesus forgave me for all of it.Continued →

Brave Days Release Debut Album "Work In Progress"

Texas based pop-punk band, Brave Days, have just released their insane new album called “Work In Progress” through Honey Gold Records. For a new band, they have surprisingly hit it out of the park on this debut. Melodic, energetic, aggressive, moody, uplifting, and altogether, heart-pumping punk rock. There are hints of old emo and Drive Thru Records, 00’s like pop-punk. This is like a gift for all fans of the genre and a love letter to those seeking hope. I have a feeling you will be hearing a lot more from this group in the near future.… Continued →

Please list artist name covering a song and song title below this post in the comments section so I can take your suggestions and add them. What you see now on Spotify is just me recalling stuff off the top of my head.… Continued →

Jason Dunn, formerly of Hawk Nelson, has released a solo track he calls his life story in a nutshell and dedicated to those who think he’s just doing mellower, softer stuff these days. REVIEW : Huntingtons - Muerto, Carcel o Rocanroll

Huntingtons are back with their first new album of recorded material in 17 years—their 8th full-length overall. This time around the band comprises Mike Holt (vocals/bass) Jonathan “Cliffy” Walker (guitars/vocals) Josh Blackway (guitars/vocals) and Chris Eller (drums). While the band has been known for its admiration for the Ramones, the first thing that struck me about Muerto, Carcel o Rocanroll is how much less obvious their worship for the leather-clad New Yorkers is this time. There are a few nods to them, most notably on ‘You Don’t Have to Go,’ and ‘I Don’t Wanna Die Alone’ (which reminds me a bit of ‘Poison Heart’ from Mondo Bizarro), but there’s clearly been some development of their sound in their 17-year hiatus.… Continued →

Five EPs From 2019 You Can Download for Free

Streaming is great and all but it’s not for everyone. At least that’s the impression I got last time I wrote about albums you can download for free. So I’ve got five more free EPs that released during 2019 you can add to collection. 1. Roelant – The Narrows This 5-song EP is a contender for my best albums/EPs of 2019. Roelant first crossed my radar in 2015 with their album Music to Change the World but failed to making a lasting impression. That all changed when I heard the lead single “Wrong” from their new EP The Narrows earlier this year (check it out below).… Continued →
