The festivities of Five Iron Frenzy day (yesterday) has brought us news of the band’s now classic album “Upbeats and Beatdowns” getting the vinyl treatment. “Upbeats and Beatdowns” was this band’s eclectic debut record, released 20 years ago on 5 Minute Walk Records. This awesome vinyl pressing will be handled by SMLXL Vinyl and shipped out in March 2017. Pre-order now right here. The Blamed have begun writing their new EP. This will be the first official new release since 2002. The band has taken a turn back towards more old school punk/thrash sound as found on their early albums. It’s much welcomed in this scene of jaded cynicism and a certain sort of safe complacency. Another band I want to highlight is the melodic punk band ForeverAtLast which released an explosive collection of songs last year in the album “Ghosts Again”. The band is touring constantly and you may have caught them at a show this past year. This is all for the Kickstarter campaign to fund the DVD release of the 2005 Broken Reunion Show.
