Debut Release From Doulos

One of Thumper Punk Records’ newest bands, Doulos, have released their debut ep, “The Middleman”. These guys border on punk, harcore, and street punk. I was able to see them a few years ago and have eagerly awaited this release and there’s no question, it was well worth the wait. Make sure you give this ep a listen, you won’t wanna sleep on this one!  … Continued →

Mainframe Experience the Lockdown With Their Brand New Song

Mainframe return with a catchy new, most definitely relevant, new song titled “Lockdown”. The band and IVM have released the song through IVM bandcamp right here (For Free) and it’ll be on all digital networks next Friday! It’s an exciting representation of the band, their message, and their experiences living here in the states during our very chaotic times. It’s got a great message and showcases their more punk rock n’ roll sound. Follow them on Facebook here and Instagram: @mainframepunk . Listen to the song, below.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Moral Support - Control

Punk rock developed somewhere in the 1970s when what had essentially been garage rock bands got louder, snarlier, and started playing shorter, faster songs. While critics argue about the official beginning of the genre (is proto-punk still punk?), it was fully fledged in the late 70s, and had already started giving way to what would become two new genres. New Wave was the poppier extension of punk (that would further develop into synth-pop and electronica). Post-punk was the darker, more introspective branch that would eventually give birth to goth and alternative rock.… Continued →

My Thoughts on the New Five Iron Frenzy Album

Edit: Five Iron Frenzy themselves have posted updated lyrics with corrections made, click here. Also, I left out info on “So We Sing” which is a catchy song in it’s own right but I didn’t mention because it was the first single released a few months back and I assumed most had heard it. Carry on…. Five Iron Frenzy surprised just about everyone by dropping their brand new, electrifying full length album on Friday. It is a complete, total dumpster fire wreck of an album and filled with nothing but pure feces.… Continued →

Best of 2020: Rob Jensen

I was going to write a little intro to this list of mine, but in the end I figured I’d just let it speak for itself. Alot of great music dropped despite all the year brought us and these are my top 20. Let me know what you think!     20. Everything In Slow Motion – “Influence”. (Rock/Hard Rock) Released 10/16/20 on Facedown Records. Influence was the band’s first release since the 2016 ep, Laid Low. While it didn’t feel like a whole lot of new ground was covered, that is a good thing, especially considering their sound.… Continued →

Song of the Day: MxPx - Christmas Day

Today’s perfect “Christmas” song is none other than MxPx “Christmas Day” from that cherished 1999 compilation album, “Happy Christmas Vol. 2”. This compilation was released on BEC Recordings / T&N which brought some classics from artists like MxPx, Sixpence None The Richer, All Star United, Plankeye, Hangnail, Flight 180, Starflyer 59, Fanmail, Element 101, Deluxetone Rockets, and so many more. First 3 Volumes are pure classics! MxPx brought it at a time where the band was exploding with “Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo”.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Fanmail - I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

Another Song of The Day from the great Happy Christmas series of the late 90’s. The first 3 Volumes still remain some of my favorite “Christmas” collections of songs, by far. My song of the day, which is the 2nd today, Christmas Eve. Fanmail came out swinging with a punk rock classic done with their (now) classic sound. Scott Silletta (Ex-Plankeye) was always in his best element by showing a bit of edge behind the guitar and mic. This song is certainly no exception to that rule.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Five Iron Frenzy - You Gotta Get Up

When Happy Christmas Vol. 1 hit my ears, I was pleasantly and delightfully impressed. It had some of my favorite bands at the time doing their best versions of Christmas classics. One of those songs was “You Gotta Get Up” by Five Iron Frenzy which was originally composed by Rich Mullins (RIP). The song is a playful tune with a bouncy rhythm and plenty of holiday cheer, perfect for the Christmas season. Well placed horn section and Reese’s unforgettable voice, I mean that in the most sincere way.… Continued →

No Lost Cause just dropped a new version of “Hope For The Hopeless” featuring smooth, warm, and well placed horn parts throughout. This is the best that No Lost Cause has ever sounded. 20 Of My Favorite Albums From 2000

This is a big year not only for music, anniversaries, but also Indie Vision Music in general. Yes, my friends, this year is the 20th Anniversary of the website/store/label and everything IVM means to me. I thought of a few different things I could do for the anniversary but due to time constraints and well, this pandemic which has completely changed EVERYTHING about our daily lives, I decided to keep it simple. I have put together this little write up on what I consider to be 20 of my favorite albums of that monumental year in music history.… Continued →

Officer Negative "Dead To The World" Gets Vinyl Treatment

For the first time in over 20 years, Officer Negative “Dead To The World” gets the vinyl treatment. Officer Negative’s 1998 debut full length on Screaming Giant Records has been meticulously remastered for vinyl with recreated art from the original photos, drawings, and graphics that inspired the original release. I had a hand in sharing this band with Screaming Giant Records founder, Kendall Nadeau, all the way back in 1996/1997 through their very early demos. I had originally wanted to do this re-release myself a few years back but just didn’t have the funds or resources to make it happen.… Continued →

You can grab this album at any digital retailer or right HERE. If you’ve already given a listen, tell us what you think!… Continued →

Cast The Dragon release “Annihilate the Adversary”

Cast the Dragon has released their latest album, “Annihilate the Adversary” on Thumper Punk Records on Sept 18. The album makes for a great listen, full of energy and a message of hope. Dark, brooding punk rock with a hint of gothic elegance woven throughout 15 blistering tracks.  Joshua Lory’s baritone vocals interplay with anthemic guitars, haunting keyboards and punishing drums.  Uncompromising lyrical content focused on keeping God at the center of all things through Jesus/Yeshua our Messiah.  The band’s full tilt sound is reminiscent of The Damned, TSOL, Misfits, Grave Robber and  Scaterd Few.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Blaster the Rocket Man - Hopeful Monsters Are Dying Every Day

Film director Guillermo del Toro and spastic hardcore punk band Blaster the Rocket Man have at least one thing in common. Whereas most of society, and particularly within Christianity, monsters are usually the bad guys, these two artistic entities–operating in disparate fields as the case may be–often take the side of the monster. Pan’s Labyrinth, for instance, juxtaposes the kind but terrifying Pan against the inhuman, yet human, monsters of the Spanish fascists under Francisco Franco. Blaster the Rocket Man uses traditional monster and sci-fi imagery, all the while connecting these images to faith in Christ.… Continued →

Five Iron Frenzy - So We Sing (Lyric Video and Watch Out For Angry Grown Ups)

Five Iron Frenzy just dropped their controversial new song with a reference to a donkey. Forgive Reese, he really doesn’t know that he just invited like a ton of grown ups to come chase him down, and maybe their kids too? Yikes! Seriously though, people will be upset (even I have questionable taste) but remember one thing, the more angry you get, the more Reese will write. Please do not give Reese & Co. more reason to write lyrics. End it now. With that little disclaimer said, check out the song below and contribute to their kickstarter if you like that sort of thing right here.… Continued →

A fundraiser to Support the family of Ted Bond (Craig's Brother)

Ted Bond (Lead Vocalist/Guitarist/songwriter for the band Craig’s Brother), his wife, and their children, have been displaced by the recent wildfires in Northern California and are unable to return home. They’ve had to evacuate and will not be allowed to return for some time. Basically they are homeless and just living day by day. CB guitarist and songwriter, Steven Neufeld, has started a Go Fund Me just to help Ted and Family get by during these difficult times. A lot of families are struggling through not only the pandemic, but also loss of work and income as a result and add to the mess of 2020 with these wildfires and you just have a terrible whole year.… Continued →
