One of Christian metal’s most prominent acts during the genre’s Golden Period (roughly 1986-1992), Barren Cross rocked a traditional heavy metal sound, managing to stay both heavy and melodic without ever succumbing to glam on the one hand, or thrash on the other. I am seriously considering selling off my CD collection. I am interested in selling in bulk and not by individual one by one CDs. Groups of 25 CDs or more would be preferable. I have a lot more indie titles and other CDs that didn’t scan in through my app I use. I will add those titles at a later date. I have no more PS3 Games and the Vinyl is not for sale. These “Vinyl” were all scanned in over a year ago and I have collected quite a bit more in that timeframe plus some didn’t scan in for whatever reason.… Continued →

A really great article on the current explosion of the digital streaming marketplace and it’s subsequent takeover of standard music purchases can be read here (Billboard Article). It is interesting how much things have changed in the past decade and half. I remember the times of the pirates like Napster, Morpheus, Kazaa, etc. and how they threatened to undermine popular music. Then digital stores started popping up like iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic, Amazon, Google Play, and many more. The festivities of Five Iron Frenzy day (yesterday) has brought us news of the band’s now classic album “Upbeats and Beatdowns” getting the vinyl treatment. “Upbeats and Beatdowns” was this band’s eclectic debut record, released 20 years ago on 5 Minute Walk Records. This awesome vinyl pressing will be handled by SMLXL Vinyl and shipped out in March 2017. Pre-order now right here. Facedown Records has announced something incredible cool called “Facedown LTD.” which is a subscription based vinyl plan. There are 12 Vinyl Records available from Comeback Kid, xLookingForwardx, War of Ages (2), For Today, Gideon, Sleeping Giant, xDeathstarx, A Plea for Purging, Hands, xDisciplex AD, and Figure Four. Keep in mind that these are rare and limited to just 250 of each album. Some of these haven’t been pressed to vinyl before and the others will be rare collectors items in a few years.
