Let’s talk about perfection executed through a concept album that never loses its flavor or mysteriousness. After announcing their break up years ago, Falling Up thankfully returned though transitioning into a studio band for the most part – rarely playing shows. From Fangs! back in 2009, Falling Up has made a consistent and indisputable case that they are the kings of experimental rock among the Christian music scene. The North Carolina rockers known as Decyfer Down came back from oblivion with “Scarecrow” in 2013. It was a surprise of an album venturing into riffs and southern hooks that took heavy influences from vocalist TJ Harris and his previous band Fighting Instinct. The album was a sweet breath from what one might expect from the radio-ready rock group. Unfortunately, “Scarecrow” received mix reception and fell under too many radars. Adam Dutkiewicz, guitarist of metal heavyweights Killswitch Engage, has gotten back together with that band’s former vocalist, Jesse Leach. Together, their “side project” is Times of Grace, an explosion of hard rock and heavy metal sound that is sure to please fans of Killswitch Engage, Demon Hunter, Underoath, Thrice, and even Metallica.

Yet again, Ontario delivers strong melodies and tight musicianship. All We Have delivers alternative rock for fans of Run Kid Run, Anberlin, or Ace Troubleshooter.

Imagine what it might sound like if Emery were heavily influenced by the big band jazz sounds of the 1940s. Now take out most of the screams and throw in a chunk of 90s melodic punk and some classic Stavesacre for good measure. The resulting mix is Attalus, as heard on The Greater Tide EP.

Big rock songs that walk the line between mainstream and alternative. For fans of REM, Muse, or Lovedrug.
