Song of the Day: Tonio K. - Without Love
Tonio K. was one of those hard-to-classify artists. He employed elements of rock, alternative, new wave, singer-songwriter, and more. He was too alternative for the mainstream, but not quite weird enough for indie rock. Let’s just call it rock and roll, shall we?
Born in Southern California, the son of Armenian immigrants (born Steven Krikorian), K began his career with garage rock band The Raik’s Progress (who opened for Buffalo Springfield), then played a stint with Buddy Holly’s band the Crickets, but he got his first real break with a publishing deal for Intersong.… Continued →

Best of 2023: Rob Jensen
1. Lacey Sturm – Kenotic Metanoia: This November Lacey Sturm released her first album in nearly 8 years. To say it was worth the wait is an understatement. If it’s going to take 8 years to release a new album, this is the caliber release you want to shoot for. Lacey sounds as good as ever and has dropped an exceptional album here. It easily outshines her previous release, Life Screams, and is, in my opinion, her best work to date, including her material with Flyleaf.… Continued →

I feel that it’s their strongest work by far and ranks up there with the best of the best in melodic punk rock. You like good music well then you’re going to sink those teeth in deep to this new song, and the album too I’m sure. I’m almost 99.9% positive that I’ll dig this new album so much that it’ll rank up there high on my year end list of 2024.… Continued →

American Arson just dropped 3 new songs on all digital networks in advance of their upcoming album titled “Sand & Cinder // Tide & Timber”. By the sounds of these 3 songs, we are in for quite a surprise. What a fantastic way to close out 2023 than jamming out with crowd and scene favorites – American Arson. Wolves At The Gate "Lost In Translation" Out Now!
I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this new Wolves At The Gate covers album titled “Lost In Translation” but I sure do. It’s really done with the best production and sound you can get. Their take on many of these classic songs is nothing short of extraordinary. I’d go as far to say that some of these songs have been reinvented with a new fervor courtesy of Wolves At The Gate. I was expecting the Jimmy Eat World cover for “Sweetness” to pale in comparison to the real thing but surprisingly it’s the complete opposite and same goes for “The Pretender”, “Pardon Me”, “Heathens”, and “Breaking the Habit”.… Continued →
