Song of the Day: Lugnut - Q & A

Lugnut was a hardcore punk band from Northern Florida, only active for a few short years in the late 90s/early 00s. Their sound was somewhat melodic, but they were way too intense and too fast to be pop-punk. Some have called this sound skate punk or new school punk. They only released one full-length album entitled . . . Like the Dickens and a split release with fellow JCHC punk Officer Negative. Both releases were on Screaming Giant Records. In the band’s ashes, members went on to play in a number of other acts.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Hospital - Pages

This nu metal band released some decent music in their 2001 release Stare. They fell off the music radar after they released a couple songs on some compilations. Then, The Charon Collective filled in the blanks when they released the band’s follow up If, Then a month or so ago. It contains those comp tracks Fault & Pages along with 3 more.

Song of the Day: Twotimer - I Forget

Pop-punk band Twotimer released 2 albums and then called it quits. Very little is known about the band, other than their recorded output. After a self-titled and self-released debut in 1998, the band signed to punk stalwarts Screaming Giant Records and issued See What Happens from Here in 2000. Recommended for fans of Side Walk Slam, Shorthanded, and early MxPX. “I Forget” is taken from the Screaming Giant full-length album.… Continued →

For the first time in over 20 years, Officer Negative “Dead To The World” gets the vinyl treatment. Officer Negative’s 1998 debut full length on Screaming Giant Records has been meticulously remastered for vinyl with recreated art from the original photos, drawings, and graphics that inspired the original release. I had a hand in sharing this band with Screaming Giant Records founder, Kendall Nadeau, all the way back in 1996/1997 through their very early demos. I had originally wanted to do this re-release myself a few years back but just didn’t have the funds or resources to make it happen.… Continued →
