Song of the Day: Clear Convictions - New Breath vs Welcome to the Last Days

Puerto Rican hxc Clear Convictions is at it again with a brand new single that released a couple days ago. The new album Endure should be released in the next few months. Check out the band’s earlier discography & this excerpt from an early interview “‘Clear Convictions’ comes around because that’s how we see our lifestyle. As Christians, we believe by faith and that faith becomes true and alive , something that you can feel inside, it is like having an ear and true relationship with the Creator.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Convicted - Outcry vs Hope For the Dying - Orison

Hope for the Dying is a symphonic metal band which had its roots in metalcore. They formed under the moniker Convicted in 2003 & released 3 EPs/demos until 2007 when they changed their name. Seriously, If you haven’t heard their stuff check em out.  I haven’t heard anything new since their awesome 2016 release Legacy so here’s to hoping they release new music at some point.

Song of the Day: Bloodlined Calligraphy - America's Next Top Model

Blo0odlined Calligraphy was a hardcore/metalcore band hailing from Michigan that featured a female vocalist> They went from Selah to Strike First to Facedown Records in a matter of 3 years. Vocalist Ally also plays piano, but this SOTD is straight up heavy. I remember Jaddeus from RadioU’s hxc show playing this son on his show & I have dug it all these years. Also check out Isaac is the Champ.

Song of the Day: Hit the Deck - Heads You Lose

I’m a sucker for this style of hardcore–really fast, short songs, with equal parts melody and anger thrown in for good measure. For some reason, this subgenre didn’t have nearly as much of a following in Christian circles as their secular counterparts, making Hit the Deck stand out even more. They released one full-length on Facedown imprint Strike First Records, and had a couple of demos as well, all of which can be found as digital downloads if you know where to look.… Continued →

This year is the 20th anniversary of the label so they have had many of their prominent acts come join in or even reunite. The label is also hosting the Fest for 3 days, which is very abnormal as it is usually a one day event.… Continued →

INTERVIEW : The Burial

Meet vocalist David Marshall of The Burial. How did you guys meet and how long have you been playing together? Todd (guitar) and Jake (bass) were both playing in a previous band by the name of Oh Captain, My Captain and after that band broke up, they decided to start playing metal together. Jake knew Randy (drums) from shows and hanging out and convinced Randy to pick up drums for The Burial, as he was a guitar player firstly. Then Jeff (guitar) joined after being approached by Jake to try out and stuck around until he decided to focus on school.… Continued →
