This is very well done and if you are a tricky PC user you can even load the MP4 video and “cast to device”, select your smart TV and watch from the room of your choice (if you have a smart tv of course šŸ˜‰ I tested it tonight and it worked!… Continued →

Farewell to The O.C. SupertonesĀ

The show this past Saturday night was an incredible experience. It was bittersweet in the fact that they put on a fantastic, entertaining, and emotional show while at the same time effectively ending their more than two decade career as a band. So many memories are rolled up into this band for me and I’ll be forever thankful for the music & ministry of this mighty Ska band. I wrote a deeply personal account of my experience and love for this band on the IVM Instagram page.… Continued →

God Gave Rock and Roll to You: Part 3 - Set It Off

SET IT OFF Iā€™m going to be honest with you. I am not a Calvinist. I like to believe that Godā€™s sovereignty is shown through the fact that humankind gets to make its own choices even though God could pull every string and direct every action.Ā  However (get ready for the hyperbole),Ā it is hard for me to look past the idea of divine appointment, nĆ©e even the possibility of total pre-destination in some extreme instances. Such an instance was about to occur. It wouldnā€™t seem like much at the timeā€¦ I will never forget the day that I received ā€œThe Tapeā€.… Continued →

Metaphysical Monday: The Resurrection of Ska

So the O.C. Supertones are back together. Ā And Five Iron Frenzy just wowed the world by showing that they have more supportive fans than anyone else. Ā And I think somewhere, the Insyderz are doing something ska-related. What the heck? I considered ska my favorite music in early high school (1999-2002) and for most of that time, the Supertones were my favorite band. Ā Anyone who missed out on the pure magic of looking at the booklet for Supertones Strike Back has missed something fundamental to ska music. Ā … Continued →
