I’m going to type up some thoughts on bands that should most definitely reunite in 2023 to 1) Play an anniversary set, 2) Re-Release a classic album on either vinyl, tape, or cd with bonus features (and band commentary) and 3) Throw some new and/or unreleased tracks at us that we most definitely need to hear. IVM Turns 20 in 2020 and with that, merch needs to go. Well not entirely but it would be nice to empty some boxes and clear a path to walk. I am excited to announce the 2017 remaster of the now classic Pennylane ep “From Paradise To Parking Lots” is finally here. Go download it off the IVM Bandcamp page/ for Free here. All 5 tracks and Intro have been carefully remastered by Sef Idle over at Simpul Studio from the original recording. Fans of Acceptance, Jimmy Eat World, Thrice, Armor For Sleep, and Taking Back Sunday will find something to appreciate about the early 00’s music of Pennylane. I have decided to revisit the much adored IVM Release from Pennylane titled “From Paradise to Parking Lots“. Seth Stephen of Simpul Studio is working on a digital remaster of the original files (before it was mastered for CD release back in 2004). This 6 track 2017 remaster will go live in September sometime. I am decided to cut the 3 “Live” tracks from this remaster and just have the original studio files as they were intended to be heard. I am also going to get new artwork designed for the album cover and possible limited tape release of this Ep, the first physical print of this Ep since the 2004 (out of print) CD.… Continued →

A really great article on the current explosion of the digital streaming marketplace and it’s subsequent takeover of standard music purchases can be read here (Billboard Article). It is interesting how much things have changed in the past decade and half. I remember the times of the pirates like Napster, Morpheus, Kazaa, etc. and how they threatened to undermine popular music. Then digital stores started popping up like iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic, Amazon, Google Play, and many more.
