Today’s Song of the Day post is a little bittersweet. It’s a great song but comes with unfortunate ties to a region so devastated by Hurricane Helene. The song is titled “Appalachia” and is about life living in that region of the country around the beautiful Appalachian mountains and the many towns along that path. This rings oh so true… “And for those of us who daily struggle…daily struggle with the past. The best medicine is the gospel and a whiskey glass”. Born from the remnants of bands like Joey’s Loss and The Hotshot Freight Train, the band has been charging forward with their politically led punk rock anthems since 2018 when they dropped their 4 song debut via Indie Vision Music. I’ve got to report some sad news today that might bother a few of you, the band The Hotshot Freight Train are unfortunately calling it quits but they are going out with a BANG! That’s right, the band has recorded a 12 song final album and have released it today through all digital networks. The album is also available on a very limited edition CD which you can purchase here (limited to 100).
