The Morginsky (OC Supertones) Family Loses Home in Fire

Tragically the Morginsky family (Matt Morginsky of OC Supertones) has lost their home and all belongings due to a fire. They have lost everything in their Denver, Colorado home. A complete loss. The family is all safe but their belongings are all gone. This is a call to arms to rise up and support this family in need. There is a GoFundMe page that has launched to help them through this difficult situation and you can click here to support. When the frontman of one of your favorite bands puts out a call for help, you drop what you’re doing and send out a notice to the world.… Continued →

The Best of 1997: Favorite Hits From 20 Years Ago

Yep, the list you’ve all been waiting for (not really) is finally here. Feel free to offer up some laughs and critical remarks for the music I listened to the most 20 years ago. You’ll notice a heavy T&N presence and I just couldn’t help myself. There were a lot of albums and releases I found myself spinning back then and still getting plays today. I think that’s where this list falls in place, it’s the albums that had the longest lasting impact with me and had a catchy sound that I just couldn’t get enough of.… Continued →

OC Supertones Launch LIVE Album 2 and Final Show Video

It truly is bittersweet news I report to you today. The much cherished Christian ska-punk band O.C. Supertones have launched their (Final) LIVE 2 Album + Last Show on Video. You can order it right here in two different versions (Audio or Audio + Video). The audio tracks come with both the final show, acoustic night, and a rare new unreleased track called “The Fallout” (which pretty much rules). This is very well done and if you are a tricky PC user you can even load the MP4 video and “cast to device”, select your smart TV and watch from the room of your choice (if you have a smart tv of course šŸ˜‰ I tested it tonight and it worked!… Continued →

The O.C. Supertones Live Vol. 2 and Video

The O.C. Supertones are finishing up work on their final Live recording which will be called simply, “Live Vol. 2”. It was recorded and filmed at their final show on June 3rd 2017. There is also going to be a film to go along with it. It was a great show and a wonderful farewell to a band whose ministry has touched many across the globe. I am sure this recording and film will combine all the best elements of their final show and make it an unforgettable listening experience.… Continued →

Where Have All the Teachers Gone?

A few weeks ago I was browsing through the used section of my local record store and was thrilled to see a whole bunch of old school Christian ā€œpunkā€ CDs. For $3 or $4 each, I got albums by The Insyderz, Twothirtyeight, Value-Pac, Ill Harmonics, and Pedro the Lion. Listening to each of these compelled me to pull out other records that Iā€™ve had for years: Five Iron Frenzy, The OC Supertones, MxPx, Brave Saint Saturn, and more. Even though this music was once the only stuff I ever listened to, it had been a while since Iā€™ve really dug into it, and one thing shocked me as I started jamming out to them again today.… Continued →

God Gave Rock and Roll to You: Part 3 - Set It Off

SET IT OFF Iā€™m going to be honest with you. I am not a Calvinist. I like to believe that Godā€™s sovereignty is shown through the fact that humankind gets to make its own choices even though God could pull every string and direct every action.Ā  However (get ready for the hyperbole),Ā it is hard for me to look past the idea of divine appointment, nĆ©e even the possibility of total pre-destination in some extreme instances. Such an instance was about to occur. It wouldnā€™t seem like much at the timeā€¦ I will never forget the day that I received ā€œThe Tapeā€.… Continued →
