Song of the Day: Chalice - Lacerate

This band released one devastatingly heavy album in 1999 for indie upstart Takehold Records, and then like so many other metalcore bands, disappeared after only one album and one split (with fellow-Floridians Set Apart) never to be heard from again. A few members turned up elsewhere–some in the mysterious metal band Yeti, while drummer Nathan Warshowsky served as a studio drum tech for artists as diverse as Forever Changed, Underoath, Day of Fire, and even Paramore. Corey Steger (Formerly of Underoath) Loses His Life in Tragic Car Accident

Corey Steger, a founding member of the band Underoath who played on the band’s very early albums, has tragically lost his life in a car accident. He was a husband and father to two young children. Underoath Rare Unreleased Track "Heatherwood" With Dallas Taylor

Someone has posted the rare track “Heatherwood” by Underoath, up on YouTube. This comes from the sessions that would later become “They’re Only Chasing Safety”. It’s essentially a demo and with Dallas Taylor on Vocals instead of Spencer. The song got reworked later and became “Reinventing Your Exit”, their now classic hit song. So it appears that the Aaron Gillespie (Underoath) led project, The Almost, is back with a brand new album titled “Fear Caller” which is out October 18th via Fearless Records. You can pre-order the record here. Now I’m not sure whether it fits the typical IVM content but I am always open to hearing your feedback. Kelly Nunn Releases New Worship Ep "All Rise Up"

Kelly Nunn who has been a touring member with groups like Further Seems Forever, Maylene & The Sons of Disaster, and Underoath (among many other bands), has just released his new 7 song ep titled “All Rise Up”. This ep is beautiful and low key worship music perfect for not only Sunday mornings but any day of the week. Death Requisite to Release New Album "Revisitation" Through Rottweiler Records

Death Requisite, the Extreme Hybrid Metal band from Sarasota, Florida, is due to release their sophomore album, Revisitation, through Rottweiler Records. Rottweiler Records is a record label that was founded by Shawn Browning a.k.a. Wretched Graverobber as a method to release Grave Robber and his solo music. Death Requisite formed in 1999 in Sarasota, Florida.
