The post-hardcore legends that once was known as Frodus, have released the second pressing of their album, And We Washed Our Weapons in the Sea on Clear Vinyl. The album is a limited edition. According to their Bandcamp page: Clear vinyl edition of Frodus “And We Washed Our Weapons In The Sea” + Bonus 7″. LP includes insert of candid Frodus images and hand-written lyrics. 7″ contains hand-written letter on cover art of post-breakup note from bassist Nathan Burke. Tracks on bonus 7″ include a 4-track Frodus cover by Nathan pre-Frodus days and a demo version of “There Will Be No More Scum”.… Continued →

The Christian black metal Cerimonial Sacred has released an EP titled Eternity Begins Tonight. The band has been around since 1998 but has only released a few songs. They released a full length in 2005, titled Our War Is Only Against Hell, a single in 2015 titled “The Man of Nazareth” and their sophomore album, Christ Worshipers in 2015. The band signed to Vision of God Records on December 23, 2016, and has now released their debut EP through there. Indie label Theory 8 Records will be reissuing the classic album from Embraced titled “An Orchestrated Failure” that was released 15 years ago on their label. The reissue is limited to just 300 copies and is available for pre-order right here. The festivities of Five Iron Frenzy day (yesterday) has brought us news of the band’s now classic album “Upbeats and Beatdowns” getting the vinyl treatment. “Upbeats and Beatdowns” was this band’s eclectic debut record, released 20 years ago on 5 Minute Walk Records. This awesome vinyl pressing will be handled by SMLXL Vinyl and shipped out in March 2017. Pre-order now right here. Facedown Records has announced something incredible cool called “Facedown LTD.” which is a subscription based vinyl plan. There are 12 Vinyl Records available from Comeback Kid, xLookingForwardx, War of Ages (2), For Today, Gideon, Sleeping Giant, xDeathstarx, A Plea for Purging, Hands, xDisciplex AD, and Figure Four. Keep in mind that these are rare and limited to just 250 of each album. Some of these haven’t been pressed to vinyl before and the others will be rare collectors items in a few years. Facedown Records are teasing or rather unveiling new vinyl pressings of some of their catalog of releases. Stephen Christian (Ex-Anberlin/Anchor & Braille) has begun recording his debut “solo” record for BEC Recordings with a release date planned in 1st quarter 2017. I have been listening to Anberlin this past week and realized what a truly great band they once were. I weep when I realize Anberlin is no longer with us as a band but at least we have their recorded music to remember them by. Whenever someone offers you the chance to review a vinyl copy of Blaster songs, you are required by intergallactic code #471.QZB to reply “Absolutely!”  So when Nate reached out to me inquiring about just such a possibility, I did my civic duty and replied with the above response.  A week later, I received a package with the dread-inducing return address of “DNA.”  Until I figured out that these were the initials of Destroy Nate Allen, I was mildly concerned that my world was about to change for (probably) the worse.… Continued →
