Five Iron Frenzy "Upbeats and Beatdowns" Get the Vinyl Treatment

The festivities of Five Iron Frenzy day (yesterday) has brought us news of the band’s now classic album “Upbeats and Beatdowns” getting the vinyl treatment. “Upbeats and Beatdowns” was this band’s eclectic debut record, released 20 years ago on 5 Minute Walk Records. This awesome vinyl pressing will be handled by SMLXL Vinyl and shipped out in March 2017. Pre-order now right here. Facedown Records Announces "Facedown LTD."

Facedown Records has announced something incredible cool called “Facedown LTD.” which is a subscription based vinyl plan. There are 12 Vinyl Records available from Comeback Kid, xLookingForwardx, War of Ages (2), For Today, Gideon, Sleeping Giant, xDeathstarx, A Plea for Purging, Hands, xDisciplex AD, and Figure Four. Keep in mind that these are rare and limited to just 250 of each album. Some of these haven’t been pressed to vinyl before and the others will be rare collectors items in a few years. The price is $190 for all 12 Vinyl in a bundle (shipped at different times with last shipment in March 2017).… Continued →

Facedown Records Tease New Vinyl Pressings

Facedown Records are teasing or rather unveiling new vinyl pressings of some of their catalog of releases. The picture below appears to show quite a few vinyl releases with 3 revealed so far: Comeback Kid “Turn It Around”, xLookingForwardx “The Path We Tread”, and War of Ages “Arise & Conquer”. Stephen Christian (Anberlin) Records Debut "Solo" Album

Stephen Christian (Ex-Anberlin/Anchor & Braille) has begun recording his debut “solo” record for BEC Recordings with a release date planned in 1st quarter 2017. I have been listening to Anberlin this past week and realized what a truly great band they once were. I weep when I realize Anberlin is no longer with us as a band but at least we have their recorded music to remember them by. The band also began shipping their retrospective discography on vinyl last week.… Continued →

REVIEW : Blaster The Rocket Man/Destroy Nate Allen - Split 7"

Whenever someone offers you the chance to review a vinyl copy of Blaster songs, you are required by intergallactic code #471.QZB to reply “Absolutely!”  So when Nate reached out to me inquiring about just such a possibility, I did my civic duty and replied with the above response.  A week later, I received a package with the dread-inducing return address of “DNA.”  Until I figured out that these were the initials of Destroy Nate Allen, I was mildly concerned that my world was about to change for (probably) the worse.… Continued →
